Vehicle History

May 2020 Go North East From Monday 1 June 2020, in line with guidance from the government, Go North East's bus services will start returning to what can be considered a 'normal' level of service on weekdays (albeit still reduced on weekends), also with some minor changes which had originally been planned to take place from 17 May 2020. The depots which were temporarily 'mothballed' for the duration of the crisis have now re-opened, except for Saltmeadows Road, which is where most of the National Express coaches are stored. The central works facility remains open as usual. Therefore, this vehicle has now been reinstated at Hexham Depot.
April 2020 Go North East Following completion of all required vehicle re-allocations; this vehicle has been temporarily withdrawn from service due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and has been officially delicensed (SORN'd), enabling Go North East to obtain a tax refund.
December 2017 Go North East Photograph by Following the return from refurbishment of the entire batch of vehicles intended to be allocated to the X84/X85 services, Mercedes Citaro 0530N/Mercedes Citaro 5298 to 5302, this vehicle has now received "Tynedale Express" branding. Adopting a similar design to the recent X9 | X10 brand re-launch, albeit primarily blue in colour to provide the biggest contrast against the orange base colour allowing a bigger impact, the livery intends to promote the fast and direct links between Newcastle and Hexham. The rear design focuses on the express nature of the route; depicting a graphic of a road (reflecting the A69), which is the fastest route between the two locations.
