This vehicle has entered service at Blyth Depot, and has additionally received "Sapphire" branding with sub-branding for service 6, ahead of its impending transfer to Belmont Depot. It is thought that the allocation of this vehicle to Blyth Depot will only be temporary, whilst vehicles in Blyth's own fleet undergo repaint and refurbishment.

This vehicle is one of a batch of ten VDL SB200/Wright Pulsar 2 vehicles which has been acquired by Arriva North East from the North West division (where it previously carried fleet number 3118). It is currently undergoing repaint and refurbishment to "Sapphire" specification at Thornton Brothers, Ashington. It is thought that this batch of vehicles will be allocated to service 6 at Belmont Depot, which is in-line to be upgraded to "Sapphire" specification.
