Arriva North East has teamed up with Stagecoach, Northumberland County Council and Cumbria County Council to bring customers a brand new and improved 685 service between Newcastle, Corbridge, Hexham, Haltwhistle, Brampton and Carlisle. As part of the improvements to service 685; a new brand (Cross Pennine) has been designed by Best Impressions, which this vehicle has now gained following repaint. It has also been refurbished internally. Unlike the other vehicles refurbished for the service, this vehicle's leather seats do not feature the harrier bird and Cross Pennine logo. As part of the vehicle's refurbishment, it has been fitted with free customer Wi-Fi as well as USB power sockets.
