Ahead of the impending allocation of Optare MetroDecker MD1114/Optare 9083 (YJ65 EPU) to Percy Main Depot for allocation to "Cobalt Clipper" services 309/310, which will enable one of the red Volvo B9TL/Wright Eclipse Gemini 2 vehicles currently forming part of the PVR to become spare again, this vehicle has been withdrawn from service at Percy Main Depot.

Following a period of use in Glasgow to provide transport on behalf of First Group for the Commonwealth Games 2014, this vehicle has now returned to Go North East.

First Group approached a number of bus operators up and down the United Kingdom to provide transport for them during the Commonwealth Games which are being held in Glasgow this year. Go North East has provided a total of 21 vehicles for the duration of the event, with this vehicle being just one. They are being held overnight at First Glasgow's depot on Tollcross Road, Parkhead.

Following the closure of Gateshead and Winlaton depots, this vehicle has been transferred to the brand new Riverside Depot. Riverside Depot replaces the existing depots at Sunderland Road in Gateshead and Winlaton which date back to the days of the tramways.
