As scholars service 28S does not operate during the school holidays, a single-deck vehicle has been released from this board to be allocated to the double-deck board that this vehicle would ordinarily be allocated to. As such; this vehicle has been released for cascade over the summer, and it has temporarily transferred from Chester-le-Street Depot to Riverside, to operate Metro Replacement service 900. A two-phase Major Line Closure will take place between Monday 31st July and Saturday 2nd September 2017 to allow for work at Northumberland Park station and track and bridge renewal work which forms part of the £350m Metro: all change modernisation programme.

Following the closure of Gateshead and Winlaton depots, this vehicle has been transferred to the brand new Riverside Depot. Riverside Depot replaces the existing depots at Sunderland Road in Gateshead and Winlaton which date back to the days of the tramways.

Prior to new branding being launched, this vehicle has been repainted into Go North East's new red, yellow and blue 'swoop-style' fleet livery at Hogarths Coachworks, Birtley.

This vehicle has transferred from Stanley Depot to Percy Main, and presently retains the company's corporate livery.

With roadworks having been completed in Durham City Centre, "Prince Bishops" services 20/20A/X20 are reverting back to their usual timetables and hence there has been a PVR reduction at Deptford Depot. As such, this vehicle has transferred from Deptford Depot to Chester-le-Street.
