This vehicle has entered service at Percy Main Depot. To assist in the coverage of extra vehicle requirements over the summer holiday, which will see Go North East operating a Metro Replacement contract as well as operating shuttle services for the Sunderland International Airshow, Cruise Ships, Kynren and the Soccerbus X50, this vehicle has not yet had its seats re-trimmed into Go North East's standard blue 'Go' moquette or had extended luggage bays fitted to allow use on "DFDS Seaways" service 327. In September, this vehicle is planned to return to Saltmeadows Road to have this work undertaken.

Prior to entering service, this vehicle has received "DFDS Seaways" branding, for the 327 service operating between Newcastle City Centre and the International Ferry Terminal at North Shields, to connect with the DFDS Ferry to Ijmuiden for onward travel to Amsterdam. Each bus branded for the "DFDS Seaways" 327 service will feature different taglines on the uniquely coloured two-tone base livery. This example features the tagline "Your way to Amsterdam" on the nearside, and "Amsterdam Awaits" on the offside.

As part of ongoing improvements to the local network of services along the Tyne Valley corridor, service 602 has been withdrawn and replaced by an extended service 10, operating every ten minutes between Newcastle, Metrocentre and Crawcrook, continuing every 20 minutes to Prudhoe, Corbridge and Hexham.
