Following the entry into service of new Wright Streetlites on "Black Cats" services 2/2A and 39, this vehicle has transferred from Deptford Depot to Riverside. At Riverside; this vehicle should act as a spare vehicle for services allocated Optare Versas which do not have any premium features such as Wi-Fi and Next Stop Announcements (such as services 67/69 and 88/88A).

In line with the entry into service of new Wright Streetlites on services 2/2A; this vehicle, which was previously allocated to these services and branded as "SimpliCity", has been repainted into Go North East's corporate livery. This example carries the tagline "Our buses run 35 million miles a year - that's like going to the moon and back 72 times".

Ahead of upcoming service changes which will see "SimpliCity" service 2 reduced to a 15-minute frequency, this vehicle has had its branding altered to reflect the revised frequency of this service from Sunday 22nd May 2016.

As a new Next Stop Announcement programme for the revised 2/2A services was not created following the service revisions earlier this year, this vehicle has lost its Next Stop Announcement kit. These kits have instead been fitted to the "The Orbit" branded vehicles at Riverside Depot ahead of service changes in July, which will see "QuayLink" service Q1 merged with "The Orbit" services 51/52.

Following service revisions in Sunderland last month which saw a number of changes to service and consequent re-allocations, this vehicle has gained "SimpliCity" branding, with sub-branding for services 2/2A.

This vehicle, which carries a purple base livery, has arrived into the Go North East fleet, and is currently being prepared for service at Saltmeadows Road Depot. Due to a problem at the DVLA with registering this vehicle, it has been allocated a new registration mark (NK11 GWY) and has surrendered its original registration mark (NK11 FXL). Equipped with Next Stop Announcements, this vehicle will be allocated to Deptford Depot, for use on "SimpliCity" services 36 and 42.

This brand name was first used on a fleet of Optare Solos from Chester-le-Street to operate new service D4 in Durham starting 2 October 2006.
