Vehicle History

March 2020 Stagecoach North East Photograph by This vehicle is one of 40 at Walkergate which has been marked as SORN, following restrictions imposed by the UK Government during the COVID-19 pandemic.
September 2011 Stagecoach North East Photograph by This vehicle has entered service at Walkergate Depot, seeing primary allocation to services 39 (Dumpling Hall - City Centre - Walker) and 40 (Chapel House - City Centre - Wallsend). It will also form part of the Sunday PVR of service 12 (Two Ball Lonnen - City Centre - Walker - Wallsend), allowing the company to maximise the amount of mileage being operated by these fuel-efficient vehicles.
August 2011 Stagecoach North East This vehicle, which carries a green variation of Stagecoach's corporate livery to promote more envionmentally-friendly public transport, has arrived into the Stagecoach North East fleet, and is currently being prepared for service. Representing an investment of approximately £7.5m (partly funded by the Green Bus Fund), this batch of vehicles are believed to be in line to upgrade high-frequency cross-city routes 39 and 40. As well as featuring a special two-tone green variant of the Stagecoach corporate livery, this batch of vehicles also sport a modified corporate interior, based around green and yellow hues rather than the more familiar blue and orange. Powered by an electric-hybrid system which uses two power sources (the traditional diesel engine and a highly sophisticated battery system), these vehicles use approximately 30% less fuel and emit nearly a third less carbon than a standard conventional bus, providing customers with a cleaner and greener bus service which has a smoother, more comfortable ride.
