This vehicle has entered service at Sunderland Depot on the new "eXpress X24" service X24, operating between Sunderland and Newcastle.

Prior to the launch of service X24, which is a new express service operating between Sunderland and Newcastle, due to commence in January 2017, this vehicle has been repainted into a two-tone blue base livery and has also received "eXpress X24" branding.

Having previously been allocated to Stagecoach East Scotland's Dunfermline Depot, this vehicle has been acquired by Stagecoach North East and is currently undergoing preparation for service prior to entering service at Sunderland's Wheatsheaf Depot. It is thought that this vehicle, and the other two of its type to be acquired by the North East division, will be allocated to service X24, which is a new express service operating between Sunderland and Newcastle, due to commence in January 2017. It is of a premium specification internally having been allocated to heavy-endurance cross-city routes when a part of East Scotland's fleet. It features high-backed coach-style e-leather seating, luggage racks above each seat, power sockets and free Wi-Fi.
