(08 May 2013, 9:04 pm)Adam Malarkey 8319 is now in the Northern Red Base Livery and has been sent back to Deptford to have Northern Vinyls applied.

Photo can be seen in link below, but only if you are a member of this group Go North East Bus Enthusiast Group

Been sitting red for a while now. It could well be waiting for special vinyles, as it has Go North East on the front instead of Northern. (wishfull thinking!)

RE: Go North East - Acky81 - 08 May 2013

I personally think the versas on the currently on 36 shud be sprayed silver for the 39 Doxford clipper. Go north east have never took 36 service serious with no evening or Sunday service. The profit from 39 must be greater than 36. A decent service such as 39 needs more updated vehicles. I wish go north east would take back the evening service from stagecoach. Yeah stagecoach offer more up to date buses but they are expensive

Contrary to what speculation had suggested, I thought she was actually repainted on Sunday. Prepped on Saturday, done on Sunday.

(08 May 2013, 9:35 pm)Kuyoyo Go North East are still operating the 73, Compass are only doing one working (as explained here before).
Also, the increase of frequency on the 39 means the loadings will be spread over more buses, so the MPDs (or whatever else is used on the extra workings) will be able to cope.

He said 'Solo', not 'Solos'. With one board usually operated by a Solo, and the other by a yellow 'spare' MPD, it's likely the yellow MPD will be dropped from the service and the Solo remain in service.
I believe the 135/136 are staying and at present, one board comes off a 73, so one will sit in the depot unused all day, and the other will come off 73s to then go on 135/136s.

The use of Enviro 200s on the service will be down to the contract agreement. Those Enviro 200s (at present) are the "highest rated" buses within Sunderland's fleet. Without doing the research - are Versas and Enviro 200s the same Euro rating?

The other Nexus Solo does the 37, so likelihood is neither Solos will be sat spare in the depot once the 73 board count is reduced to 1.

27 wont get deckers ive been on them plenty of times when am on upstairs i seem to be the only passenger last time they had a demo decker was X1 in the days when all citaros were on the route which the same year they got deckers now its all deckers

RE: Go North East - Wellsey18 - 09 May 2013

Sorry ive just realised i didn't mention that it was for the 58 i was talking about, the only thing that would probably stop this is that the 58 can get quiet during the day

RE: Go North East - CatsFast101 - 09 May 2013

Does anyone know what vehicles and which depot are operating the 865? For those that don't know the 865 is an express peak time version of the 265. It's a new service brought in when the 65 turned into the 265. It was a comment about a decker going thought Seaton that got me thinking, it's impossible for decker to operate the 238 so it can't be that. I was thinking if Chester (Who used to operate the 65 until it changed into the 265) still operate the 865 it could of been a decker on that. Also worth noting I seen a decker today pull in at Seaham Interchange. It was a vodaphone/northern branded one, didn't catch fleet number but was operating '0' on its rear display, so was showing 'Not in Service'. This pulled in at circa. 5pm so a similar to when the 865 is pulling in from its evening run from Durham.

Or, the decker spotted could of been the morning scholar service, 877. As I know the morning 877 is operated by Chester due to vehicles such as Lambton Worm, Waggonway & Lime been spotted on the route. However, on the evening service, it is operated by an 'East Durham' MPD every time I have seen it suggesting it is operated by Peterlee, I'm not sure if this interworks?

(09 May 2013, 9:36 pm)CatsFast101 Does anyone know what vehicles and which depot are operating the 865?

Chester in a morning, and Deptford in an afternoon

RE: Go North East - Wellsey18 - 10 May 2013

9132 back on the 58 again today!! Does that mean the versa couldn't cope?

RE: Go North East - Kuyoyo - 10 May 2013

How do you know 9133 isn't on the 58? Unless you have seen all 12 vehicles, don't assume it's not on there.

RE: Go North East - Michael - 10 May 2013

Wonder if Deptford will paint all the Versa's which are for the 36 in Northen?

Wonder when GNE will post the new 73 Timetable?

RE: Go North East - Acky81 - 10 May 2013

I knew 36 simplicity wouldn't last too much comp from stagecoach. Bring back 139/140 these should never have been axed as provided great links

Its ok a pic but its the first 1 ive seen...

Brand its self is Ok, it looked better in red all those years ago!

RE: Go North East - Andreos1 - 10 May 2013

What time does the 865 travel to/from Seaham?
Obviously where I saw the decker, it wasnt on the 265/865 route - but it may explain the bus being where it was.

The only other suggestion I could think of, was that a bus already in the area was working a short, due to an earlier breakdown etc and another vehicle picking up the rest of the route from Seaham.

Edit: Forgot to mention the 877. I often used to see a bus on a morning running light from Chester, which I always assumed picked up a short working somewhere to Seaham and then starting off on the 65s (I always saw the same bus later in the day working the 65). It may be the short working was that 877. What sort of route does it take and what sort of timings does it have?

RE: Go North East - CatsFast101 - 10 May 2013

The 877 school bus used to interwork with the 65 on a morning. I would see it at the Mill Inn circa 8:15 many different vehicles often a Branded bus too. The 877 travels on Station Road-Princess Road-Parkside-Dawdon-Mount Stewart Street- King Edward Road-Seaham Interchange Stand A-Dene House Road-St Mary's School, arriving at 8:50. The bus would then go back along to Seaham Interchange to work the 9:01 65 to Durham- not sure if it stayed on at Durham and on the 65's all day or was replaced from there?
However, I haven't seen the morning bus (877) in a while now, so I'm not sure who operates it now. And now there's no service for it interwork with at Seaham now, 265 & 202 both operate from Peterlee and interwork already along with the 259 & 260. As I mentioned the evening (well, Afternoon) there's always an East Durham MPD that passes along the Coast Road at around 3:15, I've assumed this is the 877 as there's no other service it could be and recently I saw one showing 'Scholars' on the side ending my speculation.

RE: 865. If Deptford operate the evening service I assume the 20 & 865 interwork at Durham? Looking at the timetable it's possible, the 15:02 20A departure from Sunderland (Arriving at Durham at 15:57) could then go to Framwellgate Moor to work the 16:10 865 departure from Fram. Salutation (Arriving at Seaham at 17:06)
The 865's morning duty departs Seaham at 7:29 (Arriving Framwellgate Moor at 8:40).
The 865's evening duty departs Framwellgate Moor at 16:10 (Arriving Seaham at 17:06).

RE: Go North East - Michael - 10 May 2013

Thier's a mistake on the X36 timetable, it says it goes to Castletown, while on the place where the times are, it isnt on there.
