Seaburn - http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1080075&page=18

When on the 56 earlier, it went along St Mary's, the road looks complete now, with just the square needing completion, i can see a few more nights the road will be closed, for tarmacing and opening bus shelters, and of course moving the barriers etc... Expected completion is now January....

Thanks to skyscrapercity for the updates and everyone who posts the updates!

Couple of  updates:

Pullman Lodge firm goes into liquidation  - http://www.sunderlandecho.com/news/business/pullman-lodge-firm-goes-into-liquidation-1-7003187 - just knock it down, along with Seaburn center and build something decent, maybe a leisure center!!!!

That's Entertainment has supposed to of closed in the town... shame because it was a decent shop

Updates regarding pubs in the city center:

Port Of Call (was Chase) is due to open soon
Beehive - due to open soon (Not sure of it's new name?) - opening soon
Black Bull has also re-opened after a 1 million investment - now called Vesta Tilleys - Not sure if it's already opened?
New music lounge opening next door to Independent in the town called.... Josephs Music Lounge.  - opening soon

RE: Sunderland Area Developments - St Mary's Way, Vaux, New Wear Bridge etc - Jimmi - 14 Dec 2014

Damn! I love That's Entertainment. It seems like it has shut as Sunderland no longer appears on the website.

Interestingly South Shields now appears on their website, lets just hope it doesn't go the way of Newcastle and Sunderland branches.

Yeah, there was a good selection of ales, bombs and ciders. There was a warm fire (which came in handy as we sat near to the door), the punters were friendly and had quite a bit of banter. The doormen were alright as well Big Grin . Seems like a place to go to before you hit other bars/clubs later on in the night.

Was working through that way when the brewery closed. The pub which was built into the site was great for quiet pints.
The beer wasn't fantastic with it being Vaux, but was a lovely little place.

I had a masterplan redevelopment for Sunderland in mind but it didn't go down to well with friends from Sunderland...

I called it 'The Dresden Approach'
