RE: Go North East - Latest - Adrian - 29 Jan 2014

(29 Jan 2014, 4:41 pm)Adam Malarkey A "Hint" isn't Confirmation though is it, Rob has merely again "Suggested" that the WTX will receive Citaros once the B9's have entered Service at Percy Main, which has been Suggested Numerous Times over past Few Months. I would say that is good example of an Answer not been Fully Given, which again leads to Members wondering Are They/Are They Not going on the Suggested Service.

I do apologize if it seems as though I'm been a Pain in the Backside about this and being Argumentative, I'm not, I'm simply giving my Opinion on the Matter.

The alternative though is that we don't even get hints. Everything else that has been hinted on has happened, e.g. Versas, Streetlites, Geminis, and Solo SRs. Nobody is under any obligation to give confirmation. To be honest, I'd assume plans of "reallocation" are always subject to change anyway. They won't need the comprehensive business case, that I'd imagine the financial spend of new vehicles would.

RE: Go North East - Latest - park5354 - 29 Jan 2014

(29 Jan 2014, 10:36 am)andreos1 I believe vehicles were sent to Sandy Lane for testing at one point, although not sure if this was a recent, long term or permanent thing as Saltmeadows has (happy to stand corrected), testing facilities.

Sunderland Road is a VTS, with Wednesday as test day. (no testing at Saltmeadows). I believe Sandy Lane may have been used when the pit was being refurbished a few years ago, and also when Sandy Lane was be being refurbished, Sunderland Road was used for a small amount of testing as seem to recall seeing bin wagons etc being tested.

RE: Go North East - Latest - Michael - 29 Jan 2014

(29 Jan 2014, 4:08 pm)Dan 1x Blaydon Racer
4x Wear Tees Xpress
2x Unknown (but we've assumed Laser or 'red spare' - the latter option being more realistic given it would probably be the two 06-reg ones).

I would say for the 2 unknown ones - Laser to replace 2 scania's but maybe a spare to Silver arrows and 27

RE: Go North East - Latest - morritt89 - 29 Jan 2014

Hi

Quick question (sorry if it has been asked before). I noticed 6100 today in the Interchange Sunderland and that it has a full rear destination display. Is this just a one off for this vehicle?

Thanks

I'm not saying Hints are Bad Thing, but i'm sure Myself and Other Members would Appreciate a Better Answer than "Are They", So that we don't get Confused and Become unaware if we have missed a Hint by a GNE Representative.

RE: Go North East - Latest - park5354 - 29 Jan 2014

I don't know which ones have had the internal referb, but I believe there isn't many tridents/Renowns that haven't. I do believe all Solars have though, weren't the Fast Cats some of the last ones done? I don't really know why certain ones have and why others aren't.

B10BLEs 4913, 4921, 4922 & 4923 have not been refurbed.

Not sure but I don't think 4954/55, 4973/4/5/6 have been refurbished, as they normally get repainted at the same time and none of original Fast Cats have been repainted.

All of the new B9TL vehicles are to receive full rear destination displays, with some of the Cobalt Clipper examples already having received them (citaro5284 shared a photograph a few pages ago).

5331, 5333, 5334, 5335, 5336 will be going to Thorntons for a Warranty repaint, (and so should Crusader 5328/29/30/32), so it seems likely that 5331 will go to Riverside depot (possibly silver) allowing 5332 to go red for Blaydon Racer.

Would be better if it was order and have 5332 go red for the Blaydon Racer..

Wonder how the Citaros would look in burgundy.

RE: Go North East - Latest - Davey Bowyer - 29 Jan 2014

I think that the B9's will be launched on Monday when they're absolutely perfect with rear blinds and next stop announcements unless the driver training is getting in the way. I remember when Percy Main had driver categories like this:

- 75, 76, 85, 86
- R19, 309
- 1, 2, 17
- Wallsend and local minibuses

It must be some of the prep they do at Saltmeadows then is it?

Used to pass Sandy Lane regularly and see the training vehicles up there for driving tests, trying to identify which examiner was out and the test route they would take.

Trying to rack my brains to work out when service vehicles were sent there for testing and struggling to remember when it was.
