Glad its different everyday though.

Same applies to 8260 when that was at Sunderland Road was the worse bus however when it went to Deptford then Washington was a canny bus

Dunno how its any cannier than when at Sunderland Road, Nothings changed on it.

RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - January 2016 - Jamie M - 13 Jan 2016

Just curious, are any of the gonortheast buses actually limited to any speed?

Its certainly better than the Merits! But apart from the Red Arrows B9s and 4935, All of Washingtons allocation is Crap.
Understand 8260 is not at Washington anymore.

Still not rode this on the 88 yet, missed by one run couple of Saturdays ago. It's not it's been revived for 10 days.

Its a Great bus but just the drivers on the 88 never push the bus above 20 most of the time but still, Best bus at Washington I think.

Fair enough 8253 couldn't even do 20, the amount of times it failed, jeez! The Street Shuttles weren't very good, one day it was carrying a full and standing load when I was on from school was horrible, 8289 was nice for it's loan felt good to have it as it was the last RYB bus.

Haha 8253 have great memories of that one, remember for a period 524 just about became part of the allocation as it was on the 88 daily.
Never got a ride on 8289 but remember it passing my house lots.

Only rode it once and nearly missed it as everyone thought it was the 50 having saw it on there before and the side blind didn't work.

It was a rattler during its Sunderland road days when Washington got it was fixed up and hardly rattled

8260 has been withdrawn but is now seeing temporarily use on the Shuttle at team valley

Ridden on this on 88 only was on it for 10 minutes going from Jarrow to Hebburn

Got to ride 8289 on 50 not bad ride 8253 was a nice bus too got to ride this several times 524 was not allocated to that service properly as it was used on M2/M3/W5/W6 only time 524 was used was if they were out of spares and that was the only bus available even if a decker was there it wouldn't work due to low bridge thus why you won't see a decker on there due to low bridge at high lane row in Hebburn

8289 was quite unique. Was the last bus in the fleet to sport the red/blue/yellow livery. Can remember it saw frequent allocation to the 71 when that service existed (and was operated by Chester-le-Street), often rode it and was probably in the best condition of the other Darts at Chester-le-Street, however, I personally favoured 8236/37/38 as they had the graffiti moquette interior.

And I believe it was also a Stanley Shuttle, I loved all the Darts.

Granted, they rattled like a shed in a gale, but I was quite fond of them overall. They also suited pretty much every single livery they wore during their time in the fleet.

It was indeed a Stanley Shuttle. Of course, back then the brandings were similar to Stagecoach - the corporate livery with route branding. Quite liked the logo though.
