RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes v2 - Michael - 17 Oct 2016

(17 Oct 2016, 7:32 am)cbma06 Go North East have registered changes to their local bus network in east Durham with effect from 4 December 2016.

X6 – A new Monday to Saturday hourly daytime service from Sunderland via Seaham Harbour, Spectrum, Dalton Park, A19,  Peterlee Moorcock, Peterlee Bus Station to Blackhall and Hartlepool. Creates new ‘fast’ direct links from Blackhall area to Spectrum and Seaham Harbour.

X7 – This existing Monday to Saturday hourly daytime service from Sunderland to Middlesbrough via Peterlee and Wingate is revised to terminate in Peterlee with a one-way terminal loop around Grampian Drive, Pennine Drive, Oakerside, Southway and Passfield Way. Wingate loses its direct service to Middlesbrough (we are advised numbers travelling were very low) but a service is restored to Grampian Drive (hourly but limited in view of being in one direction only – journeys to Peterlee and the north would be by the ‘long’ way round via Oakerside) with the Oakerside area benefitting from a direct service to Dalton Park, Spectrum, Seaham Harbour and Sunderland. See service 202 for replacement services in Wingate and Station Town to the North.

X35 – Existing service X35 Sunderland to Hartlepool renumbered to X5 to fit in the local number sequence with marketing benefits. No change to route or times.

202 - This existing Monday to Saturday hourly daytime service from Seaham to Peterlee is extended via the A19 to Wingate and Station Town with a terminal loop round the back of Station town Front Street opposite the Care Home. This restores Station Town and Wingate links to the north arising from changes to service X7 and maintains direct links from these communities to Dalton Park, Spectrum and Seaham Harbour.

206 – First journey revised to start at Wingate Fir Tree 4 minutes before current start at Wingate Victoria.

208 – Monday to Friday 0914 journey Easington Village to Peterlee to run 5 minutes earlier.

209/210 – Peterlee to Horden Hall circulars. Monday to Friday 0828 journey Peterlee to Horden Hall retimed to 0858 improving the spread of arrivals in Peterlee from Horden Hall (there will be an 0928 service 210 arrival in Peterlee instead of services 209 and 210 both arriving at 0858). The 0839 service 209 remains for journeys to Cotsford Lane Primary School.

Not surprised the X5 is staying half hourly, the route can get quite busy, and it proves that because "No changes to route or timings" are happening.

The X5 PVR remains 7 too.

Hopefully Citaro's will move on to the X5/X6 routes in the future...

(15 Sep 2016, 6:01 pm)Michael PB0002400/405 - GO NORTHERN LTD T/A GO NORTH EAST, 117 QUEEN STREET, GATESHEAD, NE8 2UA
Variation Accepted: Operating between Doxford, International, Admiral Way and Pennywell, Prestbury Road given service number 39/39A effective from 06-Nov-2016. To amend Timetable.

What are the timing changes to the 39/39A from the 6th November?, as GNE haven't even bothered to include it on the list of changes or give it a new timetable?

New 202 Station Town to Seaham
I can see it having problems going around the back of Front Street in Station Town as it's a narrow uneven road and complicated by parked cars

Looks  like no upgrade to include a Sunday service on the X7. Without a Sunday offering from GNE it looks like Arriva will remain the preferred choice for those that travel on a Sunday or purchase  7/28 tickets.

No changes to route/times - the small number of trips on services 39/39A currently operated by Washington will transfer to Deptford.

(17 Oct 2016, 2:38 pm)Dan No changes to route/times - the small number of trips on services 39/39A currently operated by Washington will transfer to Deptford.

Dan is the 9 definitely being run by Deptford? Wasn't sure if you had confirmed it or not.

If so I can see 5248/9 transferring out of Percy Main, one to Washington as a spare for the 5/50 and one to Riverside for the 12/12A maybe.

Sine the X7 will no longer go to the boro, do you think a rebrand for X7 is likely, specially since the 'Tees' bit will become meaningless...

Check out what Thornley has Wink

In all seriousness, live in a village and be subjected to whims (parents have 2 EYMS buses per day in theirs) but, even though it feels crap, now, Wingate has been unusually well served.

RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes v2 - BusLoverMum - 17 Oct 2016

(17 Oct 2016, 5:53 am)cbma06 216 trimdon to easington lane. Some one posted the link to the timetable on this forum but can't remember which section it was posted in. Every 2 hours daytime. Not on DCC website yet.

I think it is, not confirmed though, going by the timetable it looks like it will be.

I also thought the same about 5248/9 Tom, Percy Main won't need them if the 9 moves, the Coaster already have 2 spares so would seem logical for them to move to Washington and Riverside... this allows a Scania to move from Washington and  a B10 to be withdrawn from Riverside.

RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes v2 - Cock Robin - 18 Oct 2016

GNE don't have much success with their Teesside services do they. First the OK, now the X7. Shame.

Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes v2 - cbma06 - 18 Oct 2016

In the past week Deptford drivers have been route learning the 9 route.

Shame indeed. It's always going to be difficult to make a success of a single route when Arriva and Stagecoach have much wider networks which are much more appealing to season ticket users.

I believe there is room for GNE on Teesside but it'll only ever work if there is more of a network. The proposals I made in the suggestions thread could be interwoven with an 'indgo Teesside' to make a successful new depot.

Ah right.

If the PVR is 4, (just a guess) GNE could run Scania's on it but that only leaves 2 spare at Deptford, meaning they'll likely need 1 more from else where.

As it looks like the "Red" scania's are remaining on the 39.
