RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - April 2017 - Tom - 27 Apr 2017

(27 Apr 2017, 8:25 pm)Michael Sorry Tom, i misread your reply.

I do agree on that, same brands should have the same allocation but the 33/39 and the 238 will all have the same brand, but on Solo's and Scania's.

In someway it works with the 57/58.
No need to apologise I wasn't very clear Smile

Will be interesting to see what happens anyway, and what the brand will be.

Looks really smart, I do like this updated look of the Blaydon Racer branding and as Ive said before The Blaydon Racer branding is certainly more appropriate to the 12/12a as it's more relevant to route it serves.

5216 is another bus with a Dalton Park rear ad: https://www.flickr.com/photos/nebp2/34167468052/in/photostream/

I believe 4927 has gained one too.

4927 has had one for a while I think. Seen it a bunch of times when it was still at Chester-le-Street.

*Cringes at the awful Geordie tagline & quotes*.

Thought it was pretty good myself - and the quotes are lyrics from the song which the brand is based on, so ties in well.  I wondered whether it would be the same lyrics on each vehicle or different.

It's better than Stagecoach's "It's canny good" or "It's nee bother".
Good they're being branded with something though, those buses in pure black are the kind of things that give you bad dreams. The omnidekkas would give the same effect if they weren't so loud and rattly.

Found attached is the confirmation of any changes @ 6/X70/1 although I gather they're all public now.[Image: 8cbf84a0037037c32f121b1a7982fcd7.jpg]

I personally think the geordieness makes the brand seem much more friendly - i like it a lot, well done to the designers.

RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - April 2017 - JP6004 - 29 Apr 2017

5365 has lost that GPS doodah while at least one of the crusaders has gained one. Being trialled at another depot?

RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - April 2017 - JP6004 - 29 Apr 2017

Also why do the citaros at deptford seem to have the worst condition dashboards? Just been on 5326 and the left panel is almost disintegrated apart drom a few metal plates

It's possibly on the old news that has yet to be typed up and inputted into the new system - it was quite some time ago that 4927 gained that advertisement.

It's possibly planned to be stripped shortly, with the amount of buses which have gained them recently. They tend to carry the mega-rear adverts for around a year.

Same lyrics on each bus. Quite a fan of this livery design myself and thought it would be quite popular amongst enthusiasts too - one of the best we've seen as of late.

Have we seen the Metrocentre Mini yet?

Yes - the DriveCam trial has now finished at Washington, and a further trial will be undertaken at Riverside over the next few months. I think it's been quite successful at Washington, which is why it's being trialled at a bigger depot to gauge whether it would suit being rolled out fleet-wide.

The trial of the new Ticketer machines has also been a great success, and will be rolled out fleet-wide over the course of the next few weeks. Riverside and Hexham will be the first depots to go over to the new machines, from next weekend.

Yes i agree the drivers seem to take more care when that was on board. Saying that I did enjoy the fast acceleration on the 4 this mornign since it was removed  Tongue

Good new about ticket machines too. I know its probably already been said but apart from contactless card payment but do they also accept android/ apple pay? Is there any plan for mobile tickets to become Q codes that you can scan?

That's good, i can see a few confused people at first, when it's rolled on other services.

Does a loop solar or Quaylink versa have one (a special big-brother camera)? I remember seeing one earlier this week but I forget where..
