RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - omnicity4659 - 13 Mar 2016 How many vehicles were provided for MRP? There was gaps of up to 45 minutes between buses today. I counted about seven, four of which were in the Cullercoats-North Shields section at about 1200. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - tyresmoke - 13 Mar 2016 (13 Mar 2016, 5:54 pm)GX03 SVC How many vehicles were provided for MRP? There was gaps of up to 45 minutes between buses today. Having seen the route it wouldn't take much to screw the whole thing up... I saw GNE posting something about delays in Whitley Bay at lunchtime which would probably explain it. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - citaro5284 - 14 Mar 2016 http://www.railwaygazette.com/news/urban/single-view/view/tyne-wear-metro-operating-contract-to-end-pending-new-train-deal.html Tyne & Wear Metro operating contract to end pending new train deal RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Michael - 14 Mar 2016 (14 Mar 2016, 12:14 pm)citaro5284 http://www.railwaygazette.com/news/urban/single-view/view/tyne-wear-metro-operating-contract-to-end-pending-new-train-deal.html Thank god for that! Still not sure why they didn't get new trains in the first place! Edit: Deleted most of my post as i found the answer to my question haha! RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - G-CPTN - 14 Mar 2016 (14 Mar 2016, 12:14 pm)citaro5284 http://www.railwaygazette.com/news/urban/single-view/view/tyne-wear-metro-operating-contract-to-end-pending-new-train-deal.html http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tyne-35800733 RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Andreos1 - 14 Mar 2016 (14 Mar 2016, 12:31 pm)Michael Thank god for that! Funding. There are some articles contained within citaro''s link that explains how and why the funding came about and the reasoning money was spent on track and infrastructure instead. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Michael - 14 Mar 2016 (14 Mar 2016, 3:48 pm)Andreos1 Funding. Always is, how bad were the tracks before they were replaced, or how bad are the tracks at Whitley bay etc? RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Andreos1 - 14 Mar 2016 (14 Mar 2016, 3:54 pm)Michael Always is, how bad were the tracks before they were replaced, or how bad are the tracks at Whitley bay etc? Pretty sure some of it was/is the original track. One of the articles mentioned the embankments being made out of ash, which obviously complicates things. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - G-CPTN - 14 Mar 2016 (14 Mar 2016, 3:58 pm)Andreos1 One of the articles mentioned the embankments being made out of ash, which obviously complicates things. Was that the toxic ash from the Byker incinerator - that contained dioxins? RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Andreos1 - 14 Mar 2016 (14 Mar 2016, 4:09 pm)G-CPTN Was that the toxic ash from the Byker incinerator - that contained dioxins? I would hope not! I had guessed ash/slag from industry back during the original construction of the Tyneside railway network. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - NK53 TKT - 14 Mar 2016 I am off to the Meet The Manager session tomorrow morning before school, I cannot wait to see his responses to my issues! RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - G-CPTN - 15 Mar 2016 Tyne and Wear Metro contract change - was it caused by Great North Run chaos? RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - NK53 TKT - 15 Mar 2016 When I was at Four Lane Ends I spoke to the Manager who said that only some sections were being changed EDIT: Most work will be at West Monkseaton RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Michael - 15 Mar 2016 Seems there are delays everywhere on the system tonight... good luck getting home hahaha RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Davie - 15 Mar 2016 (15 Mar 2016, 5:56 pm)Michael Seems there are delays everywhere on the system tonight...We'll there's a surprise...! RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Michael - 16 Mar 2016 Tyne and Wear Metro 21 mins · There are minor delays to trains running between Whitley Bay and St James due to a technical fault. Please leave extra time for your journey. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - NK53 TKT - 16 Mar 2016 (15 Mar 2016, 9:53 pm)biglugs@yahoo.com What happend to 4083 i havent seen it since the 16 th febuary last year It is parked up in the depot, I go past it everyday on my trip to school from Regent Centre to Longbenton. The same with 4002. I believe they are used for training as 4001/4040 have been making up sets commonly on a morning |
