RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - V514DFT - 01 Jul 2021 (30 Jun 2021, 11:42 pm)Michael Sure it was upped to 46 trains.Whats your views,do you think 42/46 trains will be enough? RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - omnicity4659 - 01 Jul 2021 Peak requirement pre-Covid was 37 trains I believe. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Michael - 01 Jul 2021 (01 Jul 2021, 12:06 am)V514DFT Whats your views,do you think 42/46 trains will be enough? Ye, the reason for the increase because they're duelling the track on part of the South Shields line, meaning each "line" can have a 10 minute frequency. (01 Jul 2021, 1:16 pm)omnicity4659 Peak requirement pre-Covid was 37 trains I believe. Should be enough even if they do a slight increase, due to the reliability being much better........... big question is... will the current trains last until then? RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - OrangeArrow49 - 16 Jul 2021 What does everyone think of the new Metro-inspired merchandise released earlier this month? Anyone buying any? RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Michael - 30 Jul 2021 Customer information: Due to a current Police incident in the St Peters area there is currently no service running between Pelaw and South Hylton in both directions. Customers will be updated once more information becomes available. No trains Pelaw - South Hylton due to a police incident. Stagecoach are accepting Metro tickets on bus services 8,10,11,20. GNE are accepting Metro tickets on bus services 9,35,35A,56 Just passed on the way to work and there's someone sitting on the metro bridge, really hope they get the help they need RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Train8261 - 30 Jul 2021 It's heartbreaking when you hear stuff like that. Hope they managed to talk to the person RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Andreos1 - 29 Aug 2021 https://www.facebook.com/299808817102733/posts/1312356835847921/ Alternative to Metro in Washington rolled out. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Train8261 - 07 Sep 2021 Work to start next year on duel track between Pelaw and Bede https://twitter.com/My_Metro/status/1435178176469143556?s=19 Also 4 more trains to be made taking it from 42 trains to 46 https://twitter.com/My_Metro/status/1435175979874455556?t=itJcMP7VxLXCBPlPcWEG_g&s=19 RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Train8261 - 13 Sep 2021 https://youtu.be/0bfgukQxTYI Video showing new seats. They are hopefully gonna get them out into the public so they can try them RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Andreos1 - 07 Oct 2021 https://lm.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fbbc.in%2F3DfKN4W&h=AT1D06AEBrILs4ZecezidKk3xK1rogngWKQSHmfq1tby5y2I3se-PP1fOzrQj4tw6xdszJkOsfv6B4km9roJ3DIJNFd0MyurebwTfuvQ3xtK5mM4m8cnoMz0w0P47XSwPUzKL2zF6MqaNNOf No concerns around Metro 'dualing' on South Tyneside. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Train8261 - 07 Oct 2021 Jesus a 12 week shut down between Pelaw and South Shields (I'm guessing) or Pelaw to Bede RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - 54APhotography - 08 Oct 2021 You have to remember the Jarrow tanks will still need to run, likely a temporary crossover will have to installed first at Pelaw and again at Jarrow to enable the tanks to run on the up whilst the down is relaid and mast seats sank. The NR line hasn't been touched in years and with (at peak) daily weights of 6500t at low speed has pretty much knackered it! RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Train8261 - 27 Oct 2021 Shocking today. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Michael - 01 Nov 2021 We have been appointed by Nexus, the Tyne and Wear Passenger Transport Executive, to provide project control services across three major programmes. The new contract will build on the global professional services firm’s existing programme management with Nexus and see it continue to work services across the transport authority’s Metro Futures, Metro Flow and infrastructure programmes. Metro Futures is a major £500 million programme to modernise the busiest and most frequent light rail network outside of London to help deliver long term social and economic benefits for the North East. The Metro Flow project is a £100 million track dualling scheme in South Tyneside to further enhance Metro services and boost capacity to provide an extra 24,000 customer journeys every day. The capital delivery programme will upgrade and renew current infrastructure within the Nexus Service including Tyne Dock in South Shields, Ferry Landings in North Shields, Tanners Bank in North Shields and Christon Road in Gosforth. turnerandtownsend.com/en/news/awarded-tyne-and-wear-transport-contract/ RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Adrian - 01 Nov 2021 (01 Nov 2021, 8:23 pm)Michael We have been appointed by Nexus, the Tyne and Wear Passenger Transport Executive, to provide project control services across three major programmes. No thanks, I'll stick to my job in education! RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - busmanT - 02 Nov 2021 (01 Nov 2021, 8:23 pm)Michael We have been appointed by Nexus, the Tyne and Wear Passenger Transport Executive, to provide project control services across three major programmes. Is it still "the busiest and most frequent light rail network outside of London"? RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - deanmachine - 02 Nov 2021 (02 Nov 2021, 12:11 pm)busmanT Is it still "the busiest and most frequent light rail network outside of London"? Think the Manchester Tram has long since gotten bigger than the Metro. |
