It's just a sample contract that would be signed between Nexus and the commercial operator running the service. It's quite specific in requirements, so I thought it'd be an interesting read for people.

(25 Apr 2013, 8:13 pm)Adam Malarkey Cheers Daniel do you know the exact times compass operate the 8/8X and the 38C Mondays - Fridays

The list I gave were as hyperlinks, so you should have just been able to click the service number for its timetable?

Stagecoach in Sunderland's 8 is on the same timetable as Compass Community Transport's 8X. Part of the route (albeit only a tiny bit) the 8 covers Monday to Saturday daytimes is covered by the 8X on evenings and on Sundays, when the 8 does not operate. Having used the service plenty of times to kill fifteen minutes here and there, it's primarily used by elderly people, hence why Nexus deem it essential for contract.
I can also confirm that the vehicle which operates the 37 on a Monday to Friday evening then goes onto do the 8X on the night.
The first 8X of the evening from the Golden Lion public house (see this photo for a rough idea of what the terminus looks like) starts at 19:05, getting to South Hylton Metro for 19:13. Arrives at Pennywell Road for 19:20. Half hour frequency with a PVR of 1, so timings aren't difficult to work out.

The first 38C departs Park Lane at 20:10 each Mon-Fri evening. Sundays it's on all day (similar to the 8X), starting from 10:10am.

Right I understand it now, cheers Daniel, I've all the timings into a Word Document so I don't forget them.

Compass are following the same diversion as Go North East's 60 and 61 services, and details can be found on this post.

RE: Compass Community Transport - Andreos1 - 01 May 2013

Not sure if it is a new vehicle or not (never seen it before) but a 53 reg Cadet is working the 79

(01 May 2013, 2:13 pm)Andreos1 Not sure if it is a new vehicle or not (never seen it before) but a 53 reg Cadet is working the 79

That would be YJ53VEB ex-High Peak. Acquired back at the beginning of April AFAIK.

RE: Compass Community Transport - Andreos1 - 04 May 2013

Thats the one!

If I hadnt seen the rear of the bus, Id have been telling people about the Renown they had working the 79.

Its one crossbreed of a vehicle mind, with it having the old style square lamps, rather than the rounded version common on the GNE or ANE cadets.

RE: Compass Community Transport - Dan - 06 May 2013

VEB is on 38Cs today if anyone needs a photo.

RE: Compass Community Transport - mattdw92 - 07 May 2013

(04 May 2013, 8:50 am)Andreos1 Thats the one!

There are four in total acquired from High Peak.
Three of the four are YJ53VEA, YJ53VEB YJ04BZD.
VEB seems to be the one that likes to be seen, but VEA likes to be on the 79 a lot so I suspect that the one that you seen was VEA (perhaps!).

RE: Compass Community Transport - Dan - 07 May 2013

To my knowledge, VEB has the same rear end with circular lights as GNE's Cadets do.

RE: Compass Community Transport - Andreos1 - 07 May 2013

Probably should have been clearer - meant the headlights.

The Compass Cadet has the square headlights and solid Wright Logo similar to the Renowns, opposed to the GNE Cadets

The older GNE Cadets (<2004) have square headlights. As seen here.
Although there are some deviation on the 2004 plates, as some are Merits (square) and some Cadets (round). Same buses underneath though, just dealer difference under Volvo as opposed to DAF.

RE: Compass Community Transport - Michael - 28 May 2013

Seen today at about 12pm. .unknown Cadet geting pulled along to depot, was heading along durham road towards Plains Farm area.

RE: Compass Community Transport - gtom - 28 May 2013

As reported earlier in the thread, Community Transport will start operating the 23 Barley Mow - Washington Galleries route with Stanley Travel from next Monday 3 June

Stanley used to operate with that group that went bust that I can't remember the name of! Shy
