Northern (Arriva Rail North)
New timetables are now out, basically the old one with the fonts changed and new logos. Still have the old Facebook/Twitter addresses in them.

Who mentioned a monoploy?
On a separate note, the title of the thread keeps changing.
I note there is no reference to previous ops within the title now - despite 99% of the thread being dedicated to the previous operator (as opposed to the VTEC thread, which maintains previous TOC details in the title).
(27 May 2016, 3:26 pm)Andreos1 http://www.passengertransport.co.uk/2016...franchise/Did they not think about that during the bidding process, instead of investigating 2 months after Arriva took over the franchise?

(30 Jun 2016, 7:02 pm)8222 I wonder if we are any closer to seeing a branding...
Northern looks to be putting on extra services between Darlington and Bishop Auckland during the Flying Scotsman & the Shildon Shed Bash Event at Shildon Locomotion which starts on Saturday July 23rd and runs until Sunday 31st July. This will effectively create an hourly frequency rather than the usual 2 hourly service between these two points.

156454 has received vinyls for Northern's latest promotion, albeit plastered over the old Northern Rail livery.

Favourite aircraft: G-STBL/G-ZBKL
I really hope they hurry themselves up and do something. Has anyone else noticed any improvements since Arriva took over? All I notice is that the old Northern stickers have been patched over and that's it. Saying that, Arriva (GC) haven't pulled their finger out with regards to the GC class 180s either apart from their first class. Still tatty old First moquette all over in standard and heating that doesn't turn off in the summer.

(14 Sep 2016, 8:53 am)GuyParkRoyal The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) provisional report into the Arriva Northern Franchise makes interesting reading. CMA have raised concerns in relation to the overlap of some Arriva Bus operations with the rail franchise.
Quite a large document so for those that don't want to read it all the pages relating to North East Bus Services are 133, 142 & 146.
