RE: South East Bus Operations
Mind, I'm impressed with the new 'Regency Route' branding that Brighton & Hove have introduced. It looks like they've re-upholstered the seats into purple too, given that they were the standard Brighton & Hove red, when I used this batch last year.

RE: South East Bus Operations
Had a go on my first MCV bodied Merc recently.
It was operating on Thames Travel's X39 (or 40).

Not too sure whether I liked it or not.

Looking at the fleet list. It isn't a one-off. Will see if I can get any more sampled.

Mallusk Industrial Estate - it's where all Wrights buses get PDI'd over in Ireland, prior to shipping.

Usually there for no more than a week before they get released to Belfast Docks.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind for future reference.

Just in reference to this, I'd asked about the Streetdecks when I was down there last week, and I was told it'd be the end of June before they would be entering service. An enquiry on their facebook page received the same answer.

It seems to have taken them some time to fulfil this order, given that they've started taking the Geminis off the 1 and Regency branding them, already. East Lancs OmniDekkas were making up the slack on the 1 last week.

Twelve of the new StreetDecks are due to enter service tomorrow, and cascades should commence from this weekend.

Thanks for information Dan.

How many will leave Brighton, will 12 Omnidekka's leave or will some stay behind just in case any problems come up?

I think Brighton will hold onto most of them for now - they'll need some paint floats (for the Volvo B9s undergoing the Regency treatment) and general spares in case of any teething issues with the StreetDecks.

Thought so, when they arrive in the NE will they be refurbished?

That's a question for another thread, and probably one which won't get answered Wink

Forgot to ask, how many B9's need to be done for the "Regency" brand?

I think it's 18 - so it'll be more or less all of the Volvo B9TLs previously branded for service 1 (depending on if they decide to have fleet liveried spares or dedicated branded spares).

This will allow the 57-reg Scanias previously branded for the Regency services to be repainted into standard fleet livery, in turn allowing up to 24 Scania OmniDekkas to be sold.

617 and 618 were the first two Scania OmniDekkas to be sold - delivered to Go North East yesterday:

RE: South East Bus Operations
I've noticed many of Brighton & Hove's Gemini 2s were delivered without the Wright logo embossed on the front:

Does anybody know why this is? Seems like a strange request - and if it is an option, why do more operators request not to have it?

I cant answer fully, Though I believe it was offered as a limited option for the Gemini 2, And the same bare grill was used in Transdev's former Route 36 Volvo B7TL's Rebuilds around 2011.

I don't think the option is offered anymore in the Gemini 3/ Streetdeck and why should it, The Wright Badge is barely noticeable.

Ah okay, I'd always presumed Transdev's looked like that as it was a unique rebuild job.

Only other thing I've noticed is how Stagecoach's E400s delivered after 2007 have a plain rear grill where as ones for any other operator have the 'Enviro 400' logo one. I assume this is something to do with Souter's influence at AlexanderDennis
