(27 Jul 2016, 11:55 pm)GMitchelhill What time was this, as service 41 doesn't depart from Wallsend Interchange from 0727 to 1822. Between those times it starts on High Street West. It does however still arrive at the interchange. It was the 1822. I'm not too bothered, as the 42 isn't far behind.
Whilst on the subject on the 40 / 41, I'm sure the via points are the wrong way around on the 40 at least. I will double check when I'm out photoing on Thursday.

Long gap in service on the 21 this morning. 3965 came off Eighton Lodge roundabout and ran light to Newcastle.
(27 Jul 2016, 11:28 pm)South Tyne Lad Over the time of the service, I have used the service at different times in the afternoon through to the Evening Peak, And while its obvious that passenger number's are lesser outside the peaks, Why use that data to contribute to the full axing of that route when passenger numbers are higher in the peaks? They use that data because it would be wrong not to - only around 6 (maybe even 5 or 4) hours of a day are classed as 'peak' hours. While the journeys during this time get busy, it is no justification to continue operating the service, even just for them.

(27 Jul 2016, 11:04 pm)Ambassador I suppose it all comes down to the reality of supply and demand and GNE being a business as opposed to a service provider.
If the demand was there, they'd supply more buses, they either aren't making enough money (understandable) or aren't making as much as they'd like (very different but understandable) in that area.
Historically the area has never had a fantastic bus service and like Kibblesworth it's one of those things that the majority are car owners and GNE can't compete with that.

(28 Jul 2016, 7:58 am)Andreos1 I'm wondering if there's shades of the 21/21a/21b here.
Maybe they need the vehicles elsewhere, on a route where they feel they can make more money.
The downside is that the replacement ends up suffering through a domino, cause and effect.

(28 Jul 2016, 8:15 am)Dan The vehicles on service 11 have been (or will be, at the end of the Metro Replacements) directly withdrawn.
(28 Jul 2016, 9:45 am)Michael So it seems we'll be stuck with the 2 remaining duel door versions for the time-being then... should withdraw them first!
