As already stated, the Q3 does have potential, but I think GNE should of advertised it better with maybe leaflet drops, and they could of took a leaf out of Stagecoach's book and offer a free day ticket.

Reliably informed of the following, but don't hold me to it until fully confirmed: 3869 (W179 SCU) has been withdrawn from Chester-le-Street as it's engine has expired, only Trident left in service is 3872 (W182 SCU). 6034 (V334 LGC) has returned from Percy Main and as a result, 3983 (PJ02 PZL) is expected to transfer to Riverside imminently.

Yes, I agree. Arriva did the same for Sapphire in Durham. It's a great way to get people to try the services.

Consider it confirmed.

It is due to be collected by Ensign tomorrow.

4904 and 8255 have both been sold for scrap to Trevor Wigley, too. The former was collected from Saltmeadows Road today.

I believe different mediums were used to advertise the changes to service Q3 prior to 31st July - both on the print and e-media platforms.

I'm not sure if it was done in this instance, but free day tickets have been provided in the past when promoting services. Stagecoach actually used the same company as Go North East for their recent leaflet drops on service 22 - perhaps they took a leaf out of Go North East's book in this instance!  Wink

Although already asked what will replace 3866,67 even though there is 4 month i dont know weather the following could happen
4x new buses for 327 this will allow 3866,67 to be withdrawn and 3890,1 to replace plaxton presidents.
2x omnidekkas allowing 3876,7 to be withdrawn
Im not sure if GNE have a plan for them but i think its a shame they dont meet dda.
Could GNE make them DDA complaint alike the B10S?

I think it's something fundamental and integral thus uneconomical to repair given the state of the Loynes/life cycle. The Renowns are going strong and IIRC it was just some issue with the seats, but most of the Loynes have already died or are withdrawn/unhealthy.

I think it's more likely that stock from Brighton & Hove will release Dennis Tridents from Stanley to Percy Main similar to the existing allocation.

No.

6034 was only a float/reserve vehicle at Percy Main (covering for 6104 which was having the GKN flywheel removed).

It stayed for a few weeks longer, but has now been released to Chester-le-Street (temporarily forming part of the allocation here), allowing 3983 to transfer to Riverside, which will allow a further Volvo B10BLE to be withdrawn later this month after the Blyth Tall Ships event.

3974 was the Vyking on service 1 yesterday and I believe it covered one journey due to a breakdown/incident.

Obviously a bit out of date for 9102.

Will be interesting. Considering the time, momey and manpower required to fit the flywheels, they might as well wait until the need for cascades is due with the GKN earmarked services being replaced with Streetdecks. Given the recent service changes as well as other services due for an upgrade, I think it will happen within the next 12-18 months.

Given that the two vehicles fitted with the GKN Flywheels have now had them removed, I think that suggests what the success of the flywheel was like (up here, at least!)

I cannot imagine a report being published, though.
