I'm still new to all this and getting used to it but I was on the X10 heading to Middlesbrough today and had a question about the Gemini 3s and would also apply to the new Streetdeck Hybrids. I know several people have expressed the negative side to the large rear advertisement but does it effect the integrity of the rear window being an emergency exit. As a student of engineering, it would seem to me that the rear advertisement may effect how easily the window breaks in an emergency (however unlikely it were to happen). Surely it would not have been added if this were a factor.

P.s sorry if this has already been asked

(09 Jan 2018, 12:41 pm)RBZ 5459 Four this morning.

Five - 6056/60/61/63/64.

6062 is VOR, and 6057 (Angel branded, which had been used at Percy Main for driver familiarisation) is now at Saltmeadows for repaint.

I asked a similar question a few years back, in relation the now Washington based Omni's.
Huge vinyls over the emergency exit windows and doors.

Apparently they're ok to use.
Will try and find conversation that followed and post it here.

(08 Jan 2018, 11:12 am)Andreos1 I think it looks naff.
However, they're stuck between promoting a brand and making money through advertising.
Something has to give and this seems the middle ground.

Only 7 Coaster will have advert frames, branding has been designed to fit in the advert frames.

6060 is the only one out of the ones at Percy Main which aren't working - bus was VOR on both Sunday evening and all day on Monday, so could not be updated.

It should be updated at some point this morning.

Now that the Volvo B9s on Cobalt Clipper are 4-years old, I would expect a re-branding exercise at some point this year.

Norham Road Bridge is due to re-open again shortly too - perhaps it could all coincide nicely with that?

This should be the bus allocated every day for the next four weeks (unless it's VOR for any reason), hence its extended loan to Deptford from Chester-le-Street.

Demo StreetDeck SK17 HHC has been acquired by Go North East for use at Chester-le-Street.

Could the 309/310 end up remaining at 17 vehicles if another spare could be sourced from somewhere?

Also, I was speaking to a driver the other day and he said that he agreed that they should be changed to run standalone on Mon-Sat rather than interwork but it would cost too much money. Could the drivers not do 2x round trips on the 309 (5 hours) as the total driving time for a round trip picked up at New York with no delays for most trips would stand at 4hr 24mins with 2x lots of 7mins at Haymarket and 2x lots of 11mins at Blyth (with an extra minute running time towards Newcastle between W.Bay and NT Hospital. The van changeover times from Percy Main to New York on top of the above would stand at 15 minutes there and 10 minutes back.
