(14 Mar 2018, 9:05 am)Mark1 I'll give it a try. I'v been persisting with radio x but as previously discussed it does get a bit samey.

Radio Gallagher  Tongue  Of course, I'm ill today, so as I have now watched the few bits I had in the Sky+ planner, I now have few alternatives. Really need to find something different that plays more of the indie stuff I like, mostly from about the last 10 years or do, mainly been using YouTube and my iPod but I keep getting the same few bits coming up each time.

I do like the stuff Radio X play, I just wish we could have a few different acts come up and in quite a few instances, just some different songs from their favourites would be nice.

I was listening to X-Ray by the mac's and Suzie by Boy Kill Boy.. I then realized both tunes are now coming up 12 (or 13) years old. I have a huge playlist of the music. I'm still happy to hear some of kaiser Chief's and Arctic Monkeys' turn up, especially "When the sun goes down" and "I predict a riot", but the music is underplayed. Radio 6 music used to be good for this type of stuff, but it broadcasts some pretty strange things in its place now.

This is a song I love, it's definitely worth a listen. I've not heard it on the radio or anywhere in the past 10 years outside of my spotify. The title gets its name from the poor Brazilian fella that was murdered by the met office "by accident" in lieu of 7/7. A new level of meaning to the lyrics with that in mind.

Amazing.
Couldn't tell you what I had for tea last night, forgot the band even existed, but could more or less sing along to this to my hearts content on its first play.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dutG1mcfkpo

The video captures the 90's so well too.
Will there ever be a decade, where fashions don't look so ridiculous just 20 odd years later?
I thought everyone looked great at the time.

Absolute 90's gets a bit samey during the week, but that few hours on a Saturday is just about right.

He might be a tory, have a son who supports fox hunting, make dodgy music videos and have questionable dance-moves...
But he's Washington's most famous son (sorry Malarkey) and I do like his music.

Can't beat a bit of Roxy.  Same old Scene is my favourite, but Jealous Guy and Slave To Love aren't far away.

I can't get on Andreos' link atm, but there is a cracking old BBC concert on You Tube of him doing Solo/Roxy stuff.

Aye.
I reckon more people around the world have seen and heard Ferry - over a longer period of time, than they have Clarke.
However amazing Clarke's spaces are.

Still stuck in my 80's timewarp and still listening to local contributions to the Top 40.

This time it is the Kane Gang.
Several of their videos were shot locally and one tune provided the inspiration for the theme tune for a long-running TV show based in the region!
25 #NEBpoints for the person who can identify the song from the examples below and name the TV show.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=k7jBmZC1KO0

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=q_qTPj-pDmQ (how they managed to get a days filming at the town moor without it raining is anyones guess...)

Keep your eyes peeled for my next locally based 80's (maybe early 90's) tunesters.
Undecided whether to choose Ant & Dec, Jimmy Nail or Prefab Sprout.

Nobody has tried for those NEBPoints yet. Wont give the answer away just yet.

However, as threatened previously, I've been listening to more locally based tunesters.
It wasnt Jimmy Nail nor Ant & Dec.
It has been Witton Gilbert's greatest export since the 726 did a loop around the village on its way back to Newcastle.

The Toy Dolls came on my Spotify playlist yesterday - although it wasn't this specific 'local bands' song, I had to share it.

https://youtu.be/qFyRhgCvqaU

More local filming locations, although there was no sign of the pit heap in the video and I'm unsure if Dierdrie Barlow's shenanigans led to a follow up 'tribute' song.
