Not a thread that will see much activity.

Now used on the Holy Island Castle Shuttle is Optare Solo Y293PDN which was previously with Classic. This has replaced the M-B 709D / Plaxton Beaver that had previously operated the service.

Oh yeah, i saw that coming up the A1 for some reason when i was heading back down from Berwick. I assumed it had just been branded and was heading back as its usually based on the island?

It had 'Castle Shuttle' on the front so presumably its this Solo. It was also heading up to the Holy Island turn-off rather than down from the Berwick direction.

Didn't realise they had gotten a new Solo, looks like another trip up there for me. At least this one looks as if it fits around the Island with it being a Slimline.

I believe this has now ceased operating due to Lindisfarne Castle being closed for renovation.

As passenger_10 said, Woody's Taxis of Berwick now operate the service. I believe it starts at Berwick railway station shortly before the tide goes out.

There was an eight seat Renault Master on the service at the weekend. Adapted for wheelchair users. Good to see a small family owned company trying to make a go of it.
