Following a suggestion in the Go North East: Rare and Odd Workings Thread, i decided that it would be good to have a vehicle allocation list like both Stagecoach and Arriva have had posted within the past few weeks/days. Even if we were to have a scheduled odd workings list, the other allocations should be self explanatory. Obviously, its all well and good leaving the allocations to the usual culprits but it would be nice if we could all get involved, especially as the PVR is so big. I was thinking about having the layout a bit like this (I am aware that i have missed some details out):

·         1/1A: Coaster branded Scania Omnicity
·         V1/V2/V3/V4/V5/V6/V8/V9/130/131/689/706/707: Venture branded Optare Solo SR
·         Q1/Q2: Quaylink branded Optare Versa
·         S1: Metrocentre S1 branded VDL SB120 Wright Merit
·         2/2A: Simplicity branded Optare Versa
-          21:28 2 Sunderland-Washington: Drifter branded Wright Streetlite
-          22:05 2 Washington-Sunderland: Drifter branded Wright Streetlite

The main allocation will be found next to a circular bullet point and a scheduled odd working will be found next to a dash bullet point.

This thread is mainly just to assess whether it would be worth doing it or not (would it help people etc) and if the proposal isn't as popular as I intend, the idea won't go ahead because me (and any other users who help) don't want to spend hours on end putting the list together for it not to be used by that many people.

Scott tried to get this up and running quite a while ago, but it just didn't work.

Go North East's network is so large and allocations change regularly.

We haven't managed to keep up with the Stagecoach and Arriva ones until recently, so I dread to think how we'd cope with doing Go North East...

Although i knew that that maybe the case, i thought it would still be worth a try. How often do GNE allocations change on average?

Whenever services are changed, whenever buses are transferred from depot to depot, whenever new buses arrive into the fleet, whenever there are capacity issues on a specific service, whenever buses are re-allocated to improve reliability (eg Cadets on 5 to 67/69 and B10BLE in the opposite direction)...

Don't get me wrong, I can try and knock something up, but can't guarantee I will keep it updated (much like others who have set up similar for ANE/SNE).

Quite often then. Its quite a shame because if we could keep on top if it, it would be quite a useful source for everybody. Would the Scheduled Odd Workings suggestion work or do they get changed quite often too?

I started it to see how easy it would be to assemble. I started up with the services that have been talked about most recently and are likely to have had workings posted. I have so far done the following:

(19 May 2015, 4:07 pm)danpick It was me that asked for it.

It was more of a tounge in cheek comment. Davie has been mentioning more normal workings than rare workings (bit of an exaduration) lately. I am not criticizing him in any way of course, at the end of the day, we all make mistakes both in and out of the bus environment.

Rather than updating it every time a transfer takes place, would it work to update them monthly or bi-monthly? I'm just trying to think of ways which will be easier to do for you since you actually have a life besides the forum.

Currently in the process of doing Riverside at the moment and debating how much of a mistake doing this was!
