(08 Dec 2015, 4:50 pm)Davie The 94 this morning. I understand that buses were delayed today, but the 94 took the mick! I was at Gateshead at 10:30, just in time for the 10:35 out of Gateshead. I was still waiting at 11:00 but I ended up on the 11:05. I ended up being 45 minutes late for college!

From the report I read, the accident on the Tyne bridge left most of Gateshead pretty much gridlocked.

Yeah, Gateshead interchange was full of buses out of service. Traffic was a nightmare too.

(08 Dec 2015, 5:18 pm)BusLoverMum From the report I read, the accident on the Tyne bridge left most of Gateshead pretty much gridlocked.

Yes, that's right.

Some 27s this morning were running up to 50 minutes late, and likewise the 49. The 93/94 were both affected too - thankfully there are some dupes of the 94 on a morning to shift the Team Valley workers, otherwise a lot more people would have got to work late today.

It took me two hours and five minutes to get to Bensham from the Stadium of Light this morning - a journey which usually takes 45 minutes at most. Around 40 minutes of that was spent on the 5-10 minute journey from Gateshead to Bensham!

It took two others a similar amount of time to get to work, as Old Durham Road and the Felling Bypass were both gridlocked.

This evening's journey will take an hour and a half, so not as bad as it was yesterday. The extra time it is taking to get to and from work is really wearing me out, though. Just a week to go before I'm off for about three weeks though - much needed after this week...

I've seen what has been going on. Not best pleased by what I saw on both of your facebooks. I'm not going to take sides.

But you two need to sort this out. I'm not sure what happened between you two, as one moment you seem all pally and the next moment you're both at each others throats.

What you are both doing to each other isn't good to either of you. If you both need to talk to someone or want to try and sort something out, then feel free to contact me or any other (reasonbly) sensible enthusiast.

I've tried spacing myself from these people in the past after certain back-stabbing from a couple of people which went viral in the enthusiast scene.

I've been called homophobic despite being called gay by this person. I've had enough, and I'd might as well fuck off.

I'm sitting here thinking why it wasn't like this when I was younger, but then I remember that facebook didn't exsist back then.

But a word of advice to anyone who uses homophobic abuse. You never know who you could offend when using it. You may never realise if a close friend to you is actually homosexual / bi-sexual etc. and those comments could end up hurting them as well as the person you intended it for.

I have seen mentionings of back stabbings but I've not looked into it. But it needs to stop now before someone does something to themselves or someone else that they may later regret.

I'm inclined to agree that the increased use of Social Media plays a big part in enthusiasts bickering more and more - this coming from someone who, not long after joining the bus enthusiast community, caused quite a few ructions on Social Media! After I deleted most bus enthusiasts on Social Media and 'left' Facebook groups, I found that I was bickering with people a lot less. Very few people have said things to my face, but I've been called all sorts over the Internet.

The societal attitude towards homosexuality has changed vastly changed in the past ten to twenty years. Younger people are usually brought up to be accepting of people who aren't heterosexual, and I think this attitude has led to a greater number of people 'coming out' (which, in years gone by, they wouldn't have). As being homosexual is more accepted these days, I can't see many (younger) people using homophobic abuse towards others. I do think that some people are far too quick to play the "homophobic" card, and this isn't right at all. In my opinion; the definition of "homophobia" has been misconstrued, as a lot of people seem to forget that it means that this person is scared of, or hates, homosexuals. Maybe these people are just a little too sensitive?

For the past few years, I've had so much stick for being "pro-GNE", and I think that Lee (as well as others) is getting the same for thinking the sun shines out of Trent Barton's arse. I have to say that - generally speaking - I agreed with what Tommy said. Perhaps Tommy could have made his point without using certain words, but the content of his posts was not homophobic at all. At the end of the day, Lee can post what he likes on Social Media, and if anyone doesn't like what he is posting, the right thing to do is just to delete them. It takes seconds.

May add some forum members on Facebook although may wait a few days until I get it totally sorted out etc. Problem with adding NEB members is practically no-one on here knows what my first name is so my worry is people will see my friend request and think "who the hell is this?"
