(22 Jan 2017, 7:06 pm)South Tyne Lad Good to hear! Hopefully should be completed soon/near future, Haven't seen it since it left Shields in 2011!

Both of them will never be forgotten by me, It was indeed a ride on one of them ( I think it was sister 21001 ) on the E6 on a cold winters night back in 2006 that started my hobby in Buses for good.
The two of them were Brilliant at Shields while they were here, Was treated to it occasionally on my local 18 back home sometimes, Back when South Shields was full of interesting stuff.

Its hard to get over that we only have E200/E300 and E400s based here now.
The 3 MAN 18.240 E200s are pretty good however  Tongue

1902 was out at Seaburn in 2014, and it attended the Stagecoach Stockton depot open day the following month too.

It's a cracking bus, and hopefully it is back out again soon enough.

Was a good day all round, pleased that the appearance of 290 and secret visit to THV went down well. We enjoyed attending with 290. Was the first time it had been out since September time, never missed a beat all day.

I have to say I did enjoy  myself, and was fortunate to attend as originally I was due to be at work yesterday, but due to shift changes to suit someone else, it ended up benefitting me.

But both the LH and Atlantean both performed well, was well impressed with the LH climbing up the West Road.

Hi,
Your previous posts on here and posts on Social Media have said that the road run was taking place in May, is it definitely going ahead on the 21st March, as a few people I know are booking rail tickets from around the country.

Thanks.

Visitors and residents alike will be able to hop on and off along the seafront for free this summer.

It's as a new vintage bus tour, is set to travel from the famous 'tram shelter' at Seaburn.

Every weekend during the holidays, buses from decades ago, will be providing a free hourly journey.

The circular route will pass Roker Pier, Wearmouth Bridge and Keel Square before returning to Seaburn sea front.

It's the brainchild of the volunteer charity - the North East Bus Preservation Trust, dedicated to preserving and showcasing vintage buses.

vintage buses Cllr John Kelly, Peter Elliiott, Ed Tutty

Chairman of the NEBPT, Peter Elliott, says:

"We've been looking for a way to bring our important collection of vintage vehicles to a wider audience and Sunderland sea front seems to be the perfect location. We're looking forward to welcoming youngsters, who've perhaps never seen a bus as old, and people who remember riding on these vehicles when they were younger."

"We already host a vintage bus event in Seaburn each year and this seemed like a very logical next step. The appeal of riding on vintage vehicles has already been shown to work well in other seaside areas. We also know that transport enthusiasts will travel long distances to ride on a piece of history so we'd like to think local business might see benefits too."

Vehicles that would have been common in decades stretching back to the 1960s will be motoring their way along the seafront once more. It is planned to feature different vehicles from the NEBPT collection on the route.
