(18 Feb 2016, 8:54 am)Venturego "Newcastle-registered transport operator The Go-Ahead Group has increased pretax profits by £7.4m to £52.1m in the first half of its current financial year."

http://www.go-ahead.com/en/media/news/20...-2015.html

Some interesting figures, especially on regional bus business - Operating Profit +7%

Chief Executive's Review - Comment re. Bus performance & possible effect of government future policies eg Buses Bill.

Enjoy reading!
There is some reference to the North East too.

Regional revenue growth was 2.6%, driven by higher contract income and increases in fares in line with inflation. The decline in passenger numbers of 0.5% is a result of continuing weakness in the north east economy, as well as significant roadworks in Oxford, and lower oil prices reducing the marginal cost of car travel. Passenger growth, excluding these areas, was 1.0%. Growth was driven by an increase in commercial passengers, offsetting a decline in concessionary travel.

I know you are new and didn't know but i thought i'd let you know why.

I hope i don't sound like a dick.

I understand, and was expecting a response like this to my question. Thanks anyway.

Had nothing to do with Go North East - it was by request of a member of the forum, who knew the victim of that incident.

The news articles are still available on Google, if you do a quick search for it. The incident occurred in Barmston.

Are there any plans in the future to do internal refurbish on any of the older buses in the fleet?

A few of the Citaros and Omnicities at Stanley could do with A new seat or two, although I'm sure how much all this costs and whether its worth it or not long term

I know A few years back alot of buses were refurbed internally.

I do hope so, some of the Citaro's at Deptford need a refresh inside to, if they do,they'll probables get a deep clean to.

Can't remember off top of my head how many years it is before a refurbishment?

Vehicles in Go North East's fleet usually undergo a refurbishment after 7-8 years - in the middle of its 'life' with the company.

On this basis, I would anticipate that the vehicles new in 2007 will undergo refurbishment in the not so distant future.
