I would have gone, had it not been the same day as Scarborough BusFest (even though I ain't there). Not sure how I would have gone when I was unable to print out a ticket though.

Oh. As I wasn't going anyway, I didn't bother looking and I just jumped to that conclusion as that's all I heard about getting tickets.

Just got back home. First thing I done was have a drive this morning when got there after getting photos of the buses at the coach park as drove down which was an eye opening experience, didn't realise the buses started moving once you put them into drive and having to turn corners completely different to a car. Think it was 3968 that I drove. After went to the depot on 6133 and got some more photos of the buses there and went on a ride through the bus wash on 6047. Then done the tour in the depot, favourite bit was the service delivery room to see how it all works. After that went back outside and got name put on 6302 (see photo) and had a sit in drivers cabs on 676 and 8335 and a play around with the destination displays. Then got a free ice cream and had a walk round the outside of depot and got some photos of buses parked in the yard through the fence while ate the ice cream before could board the shuttle bus back to the coach park which again was 6133. Overall good trip out and see the inner workings of Go North East

Would have loved to go today, however I've got a busy week ahead that I need to do a bit of work for, and I already had plans yesterday Undecided Hopefully I can make it next year (if it's becoming an annual event), and try my hand at driving a bus then, as I imagine it's a completely different experience to driving a car!

Hats off to Go North East for today. Very well organised open day for presumably a normally hectic working depot. All staff were friendly and easy to talk to. Mostly enjoyed the tour round the SDR as it's sort of similar to my work. Also had a go driving 3973 and 3966 which I thoroughly enjoyed. Weather held off for the majority of the event too which was a huge bonus. The free coffee and ice cream was a very good point to the event too.
I can only hope this sort of event is repeated!

Didn't make it today but if it's an annual event then it's no big deal really theres always next year. Looked canny though so well done to GNE for organising it as it seems everyone had a good day

Edit - some great feedback on the facebook page too so looks like it wasn't just enthusiasts who enjoyed it

Pleased you all had a great day.

It was incredibly busy, and I didn't expect there to be such a huge demand for the 'name in lights' thing we had going on! You all certainly kept me on my feet.

I hope the tour around the different departments at Riverside was not only fun, but informative too. The tour of our very own 'starship enterprise' (the Service Delivery Centre!) should have given you a bit of an insight into what goes on behind the scenes to get services running back to schedule. I know I thought the SDC was amazing when I saw it for the first time - citaro5284 and I regularly say how there's more screens in there than PC World on the Team Valley!

I did try and stop to talk to those of you that approached me, but couldn't chat for too long as my queue seemed to get bigger and bigger by the second!

As far as I'm aware, there's nowt you can do when this happens. I've been having this issue for the last hour and a half. Seems that many people have been having problems uploading as I've only seen four uploads in this 90 minutes and there is many people saying they've been having this issue on the Flickr Help Forum https://www.flickr.com/help/forum/en-us/
