Seems to be quite a few disgruntled people in relation to the fare increases. Have to agree, I've been waiting for something to go up in the media about the changes, but there's been nothing posted on the website, social media or to general email subscribers at all (AFAIK).

I believe GNE have only emailed monthly paying customers about their increase. There are posters up in a "some" vehicles I gather (none I've been on), but online prices on the fare finder have been updated in line with the changes. Can image a few driver's getting it in the neck this morning!

Gotta agree with passengers, however customer service were in the dark as well as drivers. Very poor from the marketing department and someone needs to be held accountable.

Obviously a last minute thing Angel. Posters could have easily been put up prior to entering service that day, that week etc

I know its late but...

Regrettably the 12:30 X10 from Middlesbrough will not be operating due to a technical fault

Starting to become very common now, let's hope new buses will be here for them next year

Someone told me that one had failed on the A19 yesterday as well. Beginning to look embarrassing how frequent these failures are occurring.

Getting to the point where it's getting like the B7's... next investment needs to be right so they can last longer but what can they buy expect for coaches?, nothing else is decent for the routes.

This is my problem with the TTX, no bus currently produced will be able to cope with the nature of this route everyday for upto five years without them being pushed to the point that breakdowns begin to occur fairly frequently. Don't know how exactly coaches would fare on the X9/X10 but I would imagine they would fare better but sadly there is the complications with this, particularly costs, maintenance and accessibility for disabled passengers.

It was a while ago, but I mentioned about having the vehicles off the X9/X10 in a shared pool, either interworking with a less demanding route or spending time working the less demanding route for a period of the week.

A shared brand could even be used.
The old Tynelink/Express Link vehicles did it with VR's and Metrobuses that weren't brand new and it was something like an X10 followed by an X1 (now X12) and back.

It certainly means the pounding of the A19 is reduced and the vehicles aren't hammered half as much.

Newgate Street in Newcastle is closed between Clayton Street and Grainger Street due to an incident on a nearby demolition site.

Due to this, the street is closed outside the Wilko store. We are changing our diversion plans for services in the city centre, to try and reduce delays in the area.

Services from Metrocentre towards Eldon Sqaure will operate normal route.
Services from Eldon Square towards Metrocentre will divert via Gallowgate, St James Boulevard and Westgate Road (serving the stop outside of the O2 Academy).
Services from Gateshead towards Eldon Square will divert direct to Eldon Square via Durant Road, John Dobson Street and St Marys Place. The stops at John Dobson Street and Blackett Street are omitted.
Services from Eldon Square towards Gateshead will divert via Blackett Street, Pilgrim Street, then either Market Street/Grainger Street or Mosley Street to St Nicholas/Castle Keep.
Service Q3 will divert via Blackett Street and Pilgrim Street, restarting route on Grey Street. Please board your bus at Haymarket or Grey Street.
There is no service outside Wilko on Newgate Street, though we do have extra staff in the city centre to assist you.

The road will remain closed tonight and into tomorrow.- follow us on Facebook and Twitter for the latest information.
