(27 Jun 2017, 9:57 pm)citaro5284 I would like to think so, as the current Scania's have wifi on them.

Ah Yes of course. Thanks Citaro5284.

Another question, if the TynedaleXpress does receive Citaros soon, is it likely they will be in place for the changes in July or likely to be later on?

I am presuming that the Citaros are the ones that were originally got for the TEN.

No, because the original TEN examples (5310-9) are being refurbished for the Crusader. While, unless Dan or Citaro can confirm any change of plan, 5329/30/2 are going to be spare vehicles at Riverside (and there's not enough of them either to cover the X84/X85).

(27 Jun 2017, 7:19 pm)S813 FVK 5472 and 5475 have:

Go North East: 5472 NK17GJJ Wright StreetLite by emdjt42, on Flickr

Go North East: 5475 NK17GJV Wright StreetLite by emdjt42, on Flickr

While 5473 has entered service today.

5468 now at Deptford undergoing PDI and ticket machine wiring. 5474 was delivered yesterday, and should be branded today.

(27 Jun 2017, 7:58 am)Michael When are Go North East expecting the refurbishments to the Crusader Citaro's to be finished?

Probably about five weeks' time - Bus & Coach World should go back to returning two Mercedes Citaros per week (one on Monday, and one on Friday).

With this in mind, 5320/21 will be this week's Mercedes Citaros, 5322 and 5310 next week's, and so on, meaning that the refurbishment of the current batch of 36 Mercedes Citaros is likely to be ongoing until w/c 7th August (with 5292 being the fleet livery spare).

Theres still the 6 mercs from deptford that are surplus since the 36 transferred to chester. Will just have to see what happens when all 18 streetlites enter service at deptford

Just noticed on the new timetable for the 689 Consett - Hexham,  whatever operates the Saturday service will need to get a shift on.  According to the timetable, between Whittonstall Village and Slaley Hall, it does a quick detour to North Shields.  Check it out!!

Exactly! Just because a service has a busy journey or two at peak/school times, it isn't proof that the vehicles allocated to that service are too small - particularly if they are an appropriate size for the remaining 98% of journeys! If it was that much of an issue, I'm sure a bigger vehicle would be allocated to those journeys instead.

Is a dupe a possible answer? Not sure what Nexus have for scholars provision in that area.

Flawed logic here Have you tried to get on a 21 after a Newcastle match or when Lord Lawson have broken up for the day. You'd suggest deckers aren't big enough

2nd cancellation of the day for the X9/X10:

We are very sorry, but the 18:10 X10 from Newcastle is not operating towards Middlesbrough this evening.

-----------

Update:

X10 Update: The 18:10 departure from Newcastle will now operate, but will depart approximately 20 minutes late.

Personally I think it would be great for the B7TL that runs the 17:10 off SAGE to dupe that service from Haymarket

(27 Jun 2017, 9:39 pm)thetravelman If the TynedaleXpress does get Mercedes Citaros soon to replace the current Solars, will they be refurbed Citaros?

(27 Jun 2017, 9:57 pm)citaro5284 I would like to think so, as the current Scania's have wifi on them.

I think although Go North East will likely use the See It Do It's to upgrade the X84/X85, I think they should use the younger 10reg examples using 5328/29/30/31/32 and 5333.

5328/29/30/32 would be the branded examples for the X84/X85, with 5331/5333 seeing use as spares plus use on the 610.

The 08reg mercs from the See It Do It's would then go into corporate livery split between Riverside and Deptford.

Maybe just me, but taking out economy and fuel costs, as a passenger I can't fathom why I'd consider a Streetlite with wifi, a live Performing arts company and a fountain of youth onboard as an upgrade to a Citaro.

Passenger wise, its light years ahead.
