(25 Jun 2017, 10:52 am)Michael Surprised 4937 hasn't been withdrawn from Deptford yet.

What will 5206 replace at Chester?, as i would imagine 5207 has replaced 4945, then the next oldest is the Waggonway Scania's.

8326 and 8327 should be the only 2 Versa's at Deptford now... =D, where are they going?

Was 4934 ever replaced? Can only think of maybe 8325 but would assume that the number of spare vehicles would have increased with the transfer of the 36.

5204 will be taking its place on the DU2 service, as that vehicle has been fitted with 4934's wifi.

(25 Jun 2017, 9:55 am)Dan 8307 and 8309 are currently at Saltmeadows being repainted into fleet livery. Should go straight to Riverside after completion of repaint. 8308 will follow, but is currently undergoing preparation for PSV test, which is to be undertaken next Thursday.

8328 has also transferred to Riverside, providing them with an additional spare vehicle for Quaylink and Citylink, to the same specification as the branded Optare Versa.

5207 has also transferred to Chester-le-Street. 5206 also due to transfer, but is currently undergoing PSV prep, like 8308.

Would of thought that some versas will go to Chester to replace the older versas which are in use on service 34, then the older versas in corporate livery for 67/69 service?.

After 8306-9 go to Riverside (and of course, 8328 is back there as well now), it leaves just 8326/7 - so plainly not enough to replace 8302-5 on the 34.

(25 Jun 2017, 3:12 pm)EL1TE 5204 will be taking its place on the DU2 service, as that vehicle has been fitted with 4934's wifi.

I was talking more in terms of the number of vehicles rather than the services. 5204 has taken 4934's place as being able to operate the DU2 but I am unsure if the vehicle itself was replaced. The point I was trying to make is that unless another vehicle moved to Chester-le-Street to replace 4934, then 5206 and 5207 are probably replacing 4934 and 4945. Or perhaps maybe 5201 and 5202 as these have unusually not yet been repainted into the new livery, perhaps an indication of their departure from the fleet?

4937 will be retained as a float vehicle for refurbishments - it is likely that some of the older Volvo B10BLE and Scania L94 presently used as float vehicles will be withdrawn now that younger vehicles are available. I believe there is interest from a buyer to preserve 4922.

5206 and 5207 will replace V-reg Volvo B7TL at Chester-le-Street - this relates to the conversion of the majority of boards on services 13/X25 from double-deck to single-deck earlier this year. Some boards remained as double-deck as they interworked with scholars services, whilst others remained as Volvo B7TL pending the availability of further Scania L94.

No, there has been a reduction of one spare vehicle at Chester-le-Street.

It is likely that there will be a further reduction of spare vehicles across the fleet, in line with the new financial year commencing, next month.

Thanks Dan, any chance of an update on the fleet lists?, one of Toonlink Citaro's is still down as "Black" and the MPD's at deptford are still down as in service.

A big thing when they reduce the frequency of services to "improve reliability" as they like to put it or simply withdraw services all together in order to withdraw older vehicles from active service.

or when they spend millions on buying new, more reliable vehicles which break down a lot less meaning the previous number of spares can no longer be justified.

I think it's only Deptford with the X36 and Riverside with S1 which will see a reduction, then again, the spare % at each depot is due to drop....

Can't work out the PVR's for the Washington and Hexham changes.

It's worked out well having "Cross City Services" in Sunderland, the merging of the 2/2A and the 42 has worked out really well, so much they've bought new Streetlites for the route... Although that merge happened ages ago.

Merging the 36 and 71 is also another example which has worked.

Swapping the 20/20A and 35 between Sunderland and Shields is also working.
