(31 Oct 2017, 8:44 pm)Andreos1 I am racking my brains to see what Reading do with theirs.

Without checking, I can't remember if they use any mention of the fuel type within the livery.

With checking, they have "gas power from Readingbuses... quieter, cleaner, greener" along the top of the pod Smilev
The MMC deckers have a tag line on the back/side - "another gas powered bus for Reading"

With the infrastructure in place and push towards greener technology, why not tell the punters in my view.

Thanks for checking Wink

I will hold my hands up and say that I was totally oblivious to the tag lines they feature. Despite riding them and seeing them on a regular basis.

Green leaves, hot air balloons etc stand out. I can remember seeing those visual images. Ditto whatever funky livery they happen to be in.
I can't say a tag line does stand out. Certainly not for me anyway.

Stockton High Street to Dalton Park is also canceled.... shame it didn't last, maybe more runs on the Saturday or even peak times throughout the week.

The irony being, that Christmas could see a rise in its popularity and in turn lead to it being worth running.

Might be the wrong place to post this.

Does anyone know when the 100 Metrocentre Shuttle was introduced? Why 100?, all other Stagecoach bus services are two digits and X for expresses. Stagecoach has no other 3-digit services and I don't think Busways ever has?

Currently 6, 7 and 100 serve the Metrocentre, what buses used to? I see that Stagecoach Busways had a 10A in 1999, interestingly a double rather than single decker bus, never allocated to 6, 7, or 100.

Thank you for any info.

I remember busways using branded up mercs on the 100 (busways fleet 1400's) before there got the scanias 900 series

Thanks for the information. Any idea why the 100 isn't an X as it technically is an express service?

I have found some old pictures of the Busways 100. Seems odd it has such a big number for such an early service.

The 100 must have started when the Metrocentre (then MetroCentre) opened.

Probably 100 is a good numbered service to remember, I remember for awhile that the 100 on Sundays used to operate as a 133 and used to start from jesmond then Newcastle to metrocentre . I have alook at some of my old service 100 timetables to see if I got one from when it was introduced or close enough.

I know years and years ago that service 100 stopped at 4 bus stops in Newcastle and you could board or alight at any of those bus stops then non stop to metro centre by the dual carriageway so there's no really any bus stops in between so there's no real need for it to be an express number prefixed, I remember with the GNE x66 that it used to be service 66 only.

Thank you. I guess it was introduced when the metrocentre opened. Old timetables are very interesting, please send me a copy if you can, it would be much appreciated.
