Scarlet Band Motors
Scarlet Band Motors
It's a shame that the Scarlet Band 42 is going to be withdrawn in two weeks, I actually liked getting up to the Arnison Centre as it is faster and not as busy as the 64. Sadly the passenger numbers are woeful, I rode it today and it had 3 passengers on towards Brasside and 2 back to Durham.
After its appearance on the 16/16A earlier in the week, T469 BCN was working service 20 today which does beg the question where was "Our Bus" Solo, it was on the 33 yesterday.
I can't imagine service 20 will continue come September 2015 as I've seen it a few times recently and I think the most I've ever seen on it is about six passengers and they look to be concession pass holders.
I think the 16/16A will survive as it does seem to get a decent amount of passenger numbers (between Town Centre and Mowden) and the school kids do help with bringing fare paying custom to the service. I think if the 110/1/2/3 and X49 can run commercially than the 16/16A can easily do so too.
Surprised to see T469 BCN still going. It's a mess.
Is it in decent nick?
Can remember riding that when new.

On VOSA today:
PB1111930/16 - SCARLET BAND BUS & COACH LTD T/A SCARLET BAND, WELFARE GARAGE, STATION ROAD, WEST CORNFORTH, FERRYHILL, DL17 9LA
Variation Accepted by SN: Operating between DURHAM BUS STATION and HARTLEPOOL INTERCHANGE given service number 58/58A effective from 27-Oct-2014. To amend Timetable.
Please get rid of YT51 EAW "The Pink Bus" it's awful, it went round a corner and made an awful noise and then the driver stopped it and got on the phone.
After this weekend service X49 will now only run on weekdays.

Since this service started back in January 2012 it has had the amount of journeys reduced a few times and now the Saturday journeys are being withdrawn. How long until we think this service will be withdrawn all together.
At Scarlet Band Motors this morning 2 yellow ADL E200's that I have not seen before and a Dawson Rentals low loader.

The evening service 22 will now be numbered as 58A for the full route between Durham and Hartlepool.

Either today or yesterday was the first day of SB's park and ride operation in Durham.
So far I've seen E200 MX10DXK, with a piece of paper instead of a destination display, and there's a plain white Solo which I haven't ID'd yet.
