One for beer lovers to keep an eye on!
Durham and its surrounding villages seems to have suddenly started to increase its share in places that brew and sell proper beer. Long may it continue.

What absolute knackers!

They are being stupid - but what's strange is that these kind of crossings are allowed on such a high speed railway. I guess the crossings came first; but you look at the TGV lines in France and I'm sure there are no crossings on it; yet alone ones like that. I guess it's all cost.

Public rights of way maybe?
Even when houses are built on a new build estate, they are forced to take in to account any existing rights of way - either by replicating the route or altering it somehow.

Passenger Trains will arrive and depart Newcastle using the High Level Bridge, not too sure about what is happening with any freight trains as of yet that may run during the 9 day blockade Northern Services will not operate between Newcastle and Metrocentre, Trains will terminate at Metrocentre using platform 2 and then cross back over using Swalwell Jn Cross Country will terminate Trains that run from Reading/Winchester/Southampton at Durham and then run light to Birtly Jn. before being brought back out. Also to note that on the 13th and 14th of January from 12:00 Saturday till 12:00 Sunday no trains will run between Newcastle and Darlington. Virgin Trains East Coast will be diverting their trains via the Durham Coast
