Couldn't GNE just wait until new (or transferred) vehicles arrive for the X66, not just withdrawing them?
Was on the 68 earlier and saw a notice behind the drivers cab about changes to the service from February 2nd. Supposedly, the 68 suffers from reliability issues, so the 12:33 service from Heworth will terminate at the QE Hospital instead of Wrekenton, therefore giving it a much longer layover period. All other services on the 68 will remain the same.
A thought about the two purple Versas. Could they be transferred to Riverside for the Orbit 51/52, to coincide with a possible extension to the routes? I remember Citaro saying they've been specifically selected, and of course the 8330-8338 batch are the current Orbits. I know a VOSA registration hasn't appeared for the services, but as I say it's just an idea.

(21 Jan 2015, 2:48 pm)Coastliner700 Maybe Go North East are planning a new brand for Sunderland based on the colour of the vehicles such as Sunderland Gold, Sunderland Silver and Sunderland Purple or maybe Simply Gold, Simply Silver and Simply Purple uniting the 3 services. I never did understand the point of Simply City it seems to have been passed around from service to service so I think that perhaps it needs to be replaced and the focus on the cross city links that are now provided. Its a great shame that SilverArrows is going as is the Laser both very good brands. I feel that there needs to be something specific to Sunderland for these services like the Black Cats or Doxford Clipper before it. Both very good brands I can't understand why they were got rid of.
It's also disappointing and great disorginastion that when the services are launched non will have received any branding.

Thought id have a little trip up Seaham this morning, was a waste of time to be honest as the few photos I took came out blurry, but whilst out on this little trip I spotted this "Go Wear Buses" Bus Stop Sign, something which really should no longer be about, this sign along another situated across the road are positioned on Stockton Road (Glebe Estate/Four Horses) in line with Seaham Industrial Estate.
This then got me to thinking would it be worth getting in touch with Durham County Council in regards to the signs and seeing if they be kind enough to give them to an Enthusiast like myself, and then replace them with the correct signs, anyone have an idea how to go about doing this as I havent the foggiest of ideas.

The thing is, if the council is made aware of this wonderful piece of nostalgia, they'd probably just replace the stop (or the sticker). This would defeat the purpose of informing them in the first instance. The best thing to do, in my opinion, would be to leave it.
@aureolin - There's one in Pelton Fell (just after the main bit) with 'Northern General' on it.
Get on the 28/28A, and after about 5 minutes after you've left Chester you'll come across it.
@Robert - no point calling it Great Lumley mate.
No one from there is great.
