April 2018 Go North East Following the cascade of Scania N94UD/East Lancs OmniDekka vehicles from Stanley, this vehicle has entered a float/reserve position within the fleet. It will be retained over the summer to cover additional vehicle requirements (such as the Sunderland Tall Ships Park & Ride services), and will only be retained in the fleet beyond summer if Go North East is awarded Miscellaneous Works Nexus contracts from September 2018. Whilst members of the "Red Arrows" branded Volvo B9TL/Wright Eclipse Gemini 2 fleet undergo work to the Eminox system fitted to the bus, this vehicle will see allocation to Washington Depot.
April 2018 Go North East Photograph by In order to improve the appearance of the Driver Training fleet, the entire batch of Scania L94s are to undergo repaint. Having previously carried a plain red base livery, this vehicle has now received a plain blue livery. It is intended for the batch to have branding fitted in the future, showcasing some of the benefits of joining "Team GNE" thereby acting as a mobile advertisement for the company's recruitment programme.

April 2018 Go North East Photograph by This vehicle has surrendered its original registration, NK58 DVX, which has now been held on retention, having been allocated cherished registration plate 'N21 GNE'. This cherished registration plate was originally acquired to promote the company's night-bus N21 service, and was intended to be allocated to Wright StreetDeck/Wright StreetDeck Micro-Hybrid 3 6333 (NK67 GOC). Due to a concern that this registration plate would hide the age of the vehicle which is still relatively new, the decision was made to temporarily allocate the cherished registration mark to this vehicle, due to it sharing commonality in its fleet number to the registration mark.
April 2018 Arriva North East Following the arrival of the cascaded VDL SB200/Wright Pulsar 2 vehicles from Darlington to operate service 23 (Sunderland - Hartlepool), this vehicle has transferred from Belmont Depot to Jesmond.
April 2018 Go North East Following a demonstration period at Go North East, this vehicle has been returned to Pelican (the UK importers of Yutong Buses and Coaches). It is next planned to be loaned to Stagecoach North East on their 100 service operating between Newcastle City Centre and the Metrocentre Interchange.
April 2018 Go North East With Go North East having been awarded a further Nexus Miscellaneous Works until the end of the academic school year, due to Nightingale Coaches having this contracts stripped from them following poor performance on these services, this vehicle has been formally allocated to Riverside Depot and no longer forms part of the Special Events Fleet. The services that Go North East will start to operate from 23rd April 2018 are the 106/143/103 group of services.

April 2018 Arriva North East Following the entry into service of the new "Sapphire" branded Wright Streetlite DF/Wright Streetlite Micro-Hybrid vehicles at Darlington on services 1 and 5/5A, this vehicle has transferred from Darlington Depot to Belmont. It is expected for this vehicle to form part of the PVR of service 23, which is to be converted to "Sapphire" specification in line with services 22 and 24.
