In order to allow the conversion of scholars service 28S from single-deck to double-deck, this vehicle has transferred from Chester-le-Street Depot to Riverside. It is expected that one of the double-deck vehicles allocated to the Special Events fleet will transfer to Chester-le-Street Depot in exchange.
Following completion of repaint and internal modifications (including fitment of tip-up seats for a buggy bay and fitment of 'Next Stop' audio-visual announcements), this vehicle has been reinstated at Riverside Depot.
This vehicle has returned to Go North East following internal refurbishment and repaint into a plain orange base livery. It is currently undergoing preparation for service at Saltmeadows Road Depot prior to allocation to Hexham Depot. As part of ongoing improvements to services in Hexham, "Tynedalexpress" services X84/X85 will receive an upgraded Mercedes Citaro allocation, with the existing Scania L94UB/Wright Solar vehicles allocated to Hexham cascading to another route.
This vehicle has been temporarily withdrawn from service at Deptford Depot and released for internal refurbished and repaint at Bus & Coach World, Blackburn. The extensive refurbishment work includes, but is not limited to, external repaint; deep cleaning of the interior of the vehicle; renewal of floor coverings; cleaning all seat frames and re-trimming seats into leather with USB sockets on the back of every seat; fitting blue accent lighting underneath seats to provide extra light on the gangway; and fitting Next Stop Announcements.
Having previously carried "Tyne Tees Xpress" branding, this vehicle has been repainted into a dark green base livery. As part of ongoing improvements to services on the Tyne Valley, Go North East will re-brand its "TEN" 10/10A/10B/10X services as "Tyne Valley Ten" on a green base livery, moving away from the silver livery which the vehicles allocated to these services have carried since 2008. Prior to entering service; this vehicle has received "X9|X10" branding, featuring the tagline "Direct to the heart of the city". In order to combat the strong public perception that people who travel on public transport are beneath those on the Social Class hierarchy compared to those who travel by car, and to show car users that they do have some commonality with bus users, each vehicle with "X9|X10" branding will feature a different type of bus user. This vehicle, which carries a midnight blue base livery, has arrived into the Go North East fleet. It is currently being prepared for service at Saltmeadows Road Depot. Representing an investment of over £1.6m, this batch of vehicles have been ordered to upgrade "Tyne Tees Xpress" services X9 and X10. These vehicles feature the latest technology, and are fitted with Volvo's new 5.1 litre D5K-240 engine, which is Euro 6 emission compliant.
