Ahead of the upcoming Sunderland Pride event, this vehicle has been branded up to support the event and the wider cause of promoting unity and celebrating diversity.
Prior to Mercedes Citaro 0530N/Mercedes Citaro 5292 (NK08 CGO) returning to service at Deptford Depot, replacing this vehicle in the role of acting as a spare vehicle for "Wear Xpress" service X5, this vehicle has transferred from Deptford Depot to Riverside. At Riverside, this vehicle will act as a corporate liveried spare vehicle for "The Crusader" service 27.
Due to a higher vehicle requirement for the second phase of the Major Line Closure, taking place between Monday 31st July and Saturday 2nd September 2017 to allow for work at Northumberland Park station and track and bridge renewal work which forms part of the £350m Metro: all change modernisation programme, this vehicle has transferred from Deptford Depot to Riverside, to operate Metro Replacement service 900.
Service changes in May saw the "Toon Link" brand encompass services 6, X30/X31 and X70/X71 with a mixed allocation of Scania OmniCitys and Scania OmniDekkas. As such; having previously carried a plain red base livery, this vehicle has now been repainted into a plain black base livery. It was intended for this vehicle to undergo repaint along with the rest of the batch back in May; but this vehicle has been unfit for service, requiring a new engine to be sourced and fitted, since then.
Following the end of the shuttle service being operated from Chester-le-Street Depot; this vehicle has returned to service at Hexham Depot, on services 185/681/X81.
Having previously carried "TEN" branding, this vehicle has been repainted into a dark green base livery. As part of ongoing improvements to services on the Tyne Valley, Go North East will re-brand its "TEN" 10/10A/10B/10X services as "Tyne Valley Ten" on a green base livery, moving away from the silver livery which the vehicles allocated to these services have carried since 2008. The new brand is designed to represent the picturesque Tyne Valley corridor and promotes the frequent buses to Metrocentre and Newcastle which the "TEN" group of services provide, up to every 10 minutes. With Dennis Enviro 300/Alexander Enviro 300 27510 (NK05 JXJ) having returned to service at Stockton Depot following completion of engine repairs, this vehicle has been withdrawn from service at Stockton Depot.
This vehicle has returned to Go North East following internal refurbishment and repaint into a plain yellow base livery. It is currently undergoing preparation for service at Saltmeadows Road Depot prior to allocation to Deptford Depot; acting as the spare vehicle for "Wear Xpress" service X5 (Sunderland - Hartlepool), replacing Mercedes Citaro 0530N/Mercedes Citaro 5284 (NK08 CFP) currently in this capacity.
