June 2017 Go North East This vehicle has been temporarily withdrawn from service at Riverside Depot and released for internal refurbished and repaint at Bus & Coach World, Blackburn. The extensive refurbishment work includes, but is not limited to, external repaint; deep cleaning of the interior of the vehicle; renewal of floor coverings; cleaning all seat frames and re-trimming seats into leather with USB sockets on the back of every seat; fitting blue accent lighting underneath seats to provide extra light on the gangway; and fitting Next Stop Announcements.

It is currently being prepared for service at Saltmeadows Road Depot. Manufactured by Wrightbus in Northern Ireland, this batch of vehicles feature the latest Euro 6 Micro-Hybrid engines with the cleanest vehicle emissions standards. Unlike previous examples in the fleet, they therefore feature a Wrightbus grille on the rear bonnet, providing additional air circulation. June 2017 Go North East Photograph by This vehicle has entered service at Deptford Depot on "Black Cats" services 2/2A (Silksworth - Washington) and 39 (Doxford Park - Pennywell). The Optare Versas currently allocated to services 2/2A are in line to be cascaded to another depot, whilst the Scania L94s currently allocated to service 39 are in line to cascade to services 38 and 61 at Deptford.

June 2017 Go North East Following the recent cascade of Volvo B7TL/Plaxton President 6042 (V306 LGC) from Stanley Depot to Washington, this vehicle has been withdrawn from service, due to it being in a worse mechanical condition.
June 2017 Go North East Following a breakdown whilst operating a morning peak journey on service 554; this vehicle has been withdrawn from service at Riverside Depot, having sustained defects uneconomical to repair. The Metrocentre Shuttle S1 service is due to be withdrawn from Sunday 23rd July and replaced by an extended X66 service on a lower frequency. Until the service is withdrawn, this vehicle will temporarily be replaced by an Optare Versa from Deptford, which will transfer to Riverside later this month.

June 2017 Go North East Photograph by Having incurred defects uneconomical to repair, this vehicle has been withdrawn from service at Deptford Depot. The X36 service, which operates on an hourly frequency between Sunderland and Newcastle via the North Sunderland estates and The Boldons, is planned to be withdrawn from Sunday 23rd July 2017, and with this would have come the withdrawal of both of the Dennis MPDs allocated to this service. Until the service is withdrawn, its temporary replacement will be provided once new Wright Streetlites enter service at Deptford on "Black Cats" services 2/2A and 39.
