With "The Castles Express" branded Wright StreetDeck 6304 (NK16 BXD) having now returned to service following completion of repairs, similar 6332 (NK67 GOA) has now returned to service at Chester-le-Street. As such, this vehicle has transferred from Chester-le-Street Depot to Percy Main, displacing Volvo B7TL/Plaxton President 6017 (V317 LGC) to a float/reserve capacity in the fleet.
This vehicle has transferred from Percy Main Depot to Washington, in a float/reserve capacity. It has been allocated to Washington Depot, to provide cover for the "Red Arrows" branded Volvo B9TL/Wright Eclipse Gemini 2 vehicles, which are to undergo a minor in-house refurbishment with seats being re-upholstered and re-trimmed. It should see exclusive allocation to a running board which only runs scholars services, releasing a younger Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B7TL to operate "Red Arrows" services X1 and 921.
This vehicle has transferred from Go North East to Go-Ahead London, on temporary loan, to operate a week-long Rail Replacement contract in operation between Brighton and Three Bridges.
Ahead of the impending entry into service of the new National Express coaches in the Coaching Unit at Chester-le-Street Depot, this vehicle has been withdrawn from service within the Coaching Fleet. It, alongside similar 7114, 7116 and 7117, are to be loaned to Go-Ahead London for use on a Rail Replacement contract operating between Brighton and Three Bridges for a week, from tomorrow.
As the Hybrid Optare Solos previously used on the "Sunderland Connect" 700/701 services are not owned by Go North East, they have now been returned to Sunderland City Council having been decommissioned following withdrawal. They will be made available for onward sale at CVA Auctions, Doncaster, on Tuesday 26 February.
Following the demonstration trial of Wright Streetlite DF/Wright Streetlite Micro-Hybrid 3 9092 (SK17 HHL) on "Connections4" service 4 in November 2017, Go North East are now currently trialling vehicles from other manufacturers. The ongoing trials have seen the acquisition of a 9.6m ADL Enviro 200MMC and also Optare's latest 'xFE' variant of the Euro 6 Versa model, allowing Go North East to gather comparative data against the Streetlites, as well as gauging driver and passenger feedback for the duration of their stay. This vehicle has now entered service at Washington Depot, on "Connections4" service 4.
To allow greater flexibility of the Optare Versa allocations at Chester-le-Street Depot, the "See it, Do it, Sunderland" brand is being removed from the 36 service, following in the footsteps of the removal of the "Lambton Worm" brand from services 34/34A earlier this year. As such this vehicle has now been repainted into Go North East's corporate livery. This example carries the tagline "No change? | Get your bus ticket on your phone with our mobile app".
