Following changes to Nexus Miscellaneous Works and scholars contracts, which has seen Go North East being awarded with over 70 of the available contracts, this vehicle has transferred from Chester-le-Street Depot to Washington. It has been allocated to Washington to operate the newly awarded contracts at Washington and to also act as a spare vehicle for "Red Arrows" services X1 and 921, like the similar examples (3941 - 3943) already allocated to the depot.

Following the entry into service of Optare Solo SR M900/Optare 721 (KY63 VTL) at Hexham last month, this vehicle has been withdrawn from service. As a result, the 'Mini Pointer Dart' vehicle type has now been completely eliminated from the fleet.
With "Hadrian's Wall" branded Optare Solo SR M890/Optare 635 (NK61 FJP) having now transferred to Washington as originally intended, this vehicle has returned to service at Hexham following temporary transfer to Washington.
