January 2018 Go North East From 28th January 2018, Go North East are making changes to a number of services to improve reliability and to allow new travel opportunities. As part of these service changes, "South Tyne" services 88/88A have been withdrawn and replaced by revised service 9 and new "Crusader" service 26. The 88/88A services were previously operated by the low-cost unit at Riverside Depot, and to replace the work in this unit at Riverside, the operation of the "Metrocentre Mini" M6/M7/M8 services has transferred across from Stanley. As such, this vehicle has transferred from Stanley Depot to Riverside.

January 2018 Go North East Following the cascade of Optare Solo SR M890/Optare 648 (NL63 XZV) from Stanley Depot to Riverside, this vehicle has transferred from Riverside Depot to Deptford in exchange for Optare Solo SR M890/Optare 628 (NK61 DBZ) which is now allocated to Riverside. It aims to allow fleet numbers of minibuses to be consecutively numbered, following the transfer of similar Optare Solo SR M900/Optare 637 (NK12 HCD) to Deptford to operate the Nexus-secured 516 service between South Shields and South Tyneside Hospital.

January 2018 Go North East Following the allocation of long-term loanee Optare Versa V1170 Hybrid/Optare 9084 (YJ64 DZM) to Riverside Depot to operate services 67/69, this vehicle has transferred from Riverside Depot to Crook. The allocation of this vehicle to Crook Depot will see the conversion of the 18 service from minibus to midibus.

As such; this vehicle has been released for cascade from Crook Depot to Chester-le-Street, where it will primarily be allocated to "Lambton Worm" services 34/34A, or, in the event of one of Chester-le-Street's three Optare Solo M710SE/Optare vehicles being unfit for service, will be allocated to the newly-awarded Chester-le-Street Town Bus Durham County Council contract.

As such; this vehicle has been released for cascade from Crook Depot to Stanley, where it will primarily be allocated to the Tesco Free Bus T1/T2 service contract, allowing Optare Solo M710SE/Optare 706 (WK58 EAE) to transfer to Chester-le-Street to operate the newly-awarded Chester-le-Street Town Bus Durham County Council contract.
January 2018 Go North East Following the cascade of former Crook-based Optare Solo SR M890/Optare 695 (YJ13 HOA) to Chester-le-Street to operate "Lambton Worm" services 34/34A, this vehicle has transferred from Chester-le-Street Depot to Deptford. There is a higher requirement for Scania L94UB/Wright Solar vehicles at Deptford Depot in line with the service changes taking place from 28th January 2018, which will see service 35's allocation changed from Mercedes Citaros to Scania L94s.
January 2018 Go North East Following repaint, this vehicle has transferred from Percy Main Depot to Washington. At Washington; this vehicle will act as a spare vehicle for "Connections4" service 4 and "Whey Aye Five 0" services 5/50, replacing the Mercedes Citaros in fleet livery which currently serve this purpose at Washington.
January 2018 Go North East Photograph by With "Lambton Worm" branded Optare Versa V1110/Optare 8303 (NK09 FCD) having sustained severe fire damage due to an electrical fault whilst operating the final journey of the day on "Lambton Worm" service 34A on 17th August 2017; Optare have supplied this vehicle, in addition to Optare Versa V1170 Hybrid/Optare 9084 (YJ64 DZM) as a courtesy vehicle on long-term loan to cover for it. Numbered 9083 in Go North East's fleet for the duration of its stay, it is expected to be allocated to Percy Main Depot. January 2018 Go North East This vehicle has returned to Go North East following internal refurbishment and repaint into a light grey base livery. Service changes taking place from 28th January 2018 will see the introduction of a new 26 service to "The Crusader" brand: there will be more journeys to Newcastle, with buses between Newcastle and Jarrow now running up to every 10 minutes on Monday-Saturday daytimes, and every 15 minutes on Sunday daytimes. Between Jarrow and South Shields, journeys will run every 20 minutes as service 27 on the current route via Tyne Dock, and every 20 minutes as service 26 via Primrose, South Leam and South Tyneside Hospital, replacing this section of services 88 and 88A.
