June 2017 Go North East Photograph by Following the entry into service of new Wright Streetlites on "Black Cats" services 2/2A and 39, this vehicle has transferred from Deptford Depot to Chester-le-Street. From Sunday 19th March 2017; Go North East introduced an improved 30-minute frequency to service 13 on Monday to Saturday daytimes, and it will interwork with services 14 and X25. The revised PVR will be 10, and 8 of the vehicles allocated will be single-deck Scania L94UB/Wright Solar vehicles, which are more reliable and will reduce fuel and maintenance costs. With not enough single-decks being available at the time, two Volvo B7TL/Plaxton Presidents were retained, pending the cascade of single-decks from Deptford.

June 2017 Go North East A large number of double-deck vehicles are required over the summer months, due to Go North East being awarded with the contracts to operate additional services for special events and Metro Replacement. As such; this vehicle, which would have otherwise been withdrawn following the cascade of Scania L94UB/Wright Solar vehicles to Chester-le-Street, has instead been moved into a float/reserve capacity at Chester-le-Street Depot, and will transfer between depots where required.
June 2017 Go North East Whilst Hexham-based Scania K340EB/Caetano Levante 7098 (FJ08 KLZ) and 7099 (FJ08 KMU) are on temporary loan to Chester-le-Street's Coaching Unit, on temporary loan, to provide extra coaches for the annual Glastonbury Festival, this vehicle has transferred from Riverside Depot's Driver Training fleet, to Hexham, on temporary loan, to cover for the aforementioned two coaches.

It is currently being prepared for service at Saltmeadows Road Depot. Manufactured by Wrightbus in Northern Ireland, this batch of vehicles feature the latest Euro 6 Micro-Hybrid engines with the cleanest vehicle emissions standards. Unlike previous examples in the fleet, they therefore feature a Wrightbus grille on the rear bonnet, providing additional air circulation. Similar to all recent orders, these vehicles feature Esteban Civic V3 seating complete with e-leather; two-colour Tarabus 'Wood Effect' flooring; and blue accent lighting, which is fitted underneath seats, to provide extra... see more

This example carries the tagline "Stay Connected | Many of our buses have free WiFi on board"
