Its not just the unbranded routes, you have the V1/V2 for the Rushcliffe Villager and V1/V2/V3 for the normal Villager (The routes do not meet at any point). There are a few more than that, too.

Two very different areas though, Rushcliffe is Nottinghamshire and Derby-Burton is in Derbyshire/Staffordshire.
When I lived in Tutbury, which the Villager goes through it was simply known as the Villager until it was expanded.

It doesn't
need to be changed - it's just best practice to avoid showing simultaneous destinations, rather than a regulation.
Wonder what the case is with DDA compliant destinations regarding Hunter's MPD's, particularly W363ABD.

That vehicle would not meet PSVAR requirements, as the nearside of a vehicle has to be fitted with a 'route number display and a destination display' - ie a display capable of showing the route number and ultimate destination of a service. The display being used on the nearside of that vehicle is only capable of showing a route number, which is only acceptable on the rear of a vehicle.
As ghastly as the front display is, I would imagine that it would comply with the PSVAR regulations, although wouldn't be 'best practice', as it shows both terminal points on the display at once.

I haven't seen that out for a while. The last few times I've been up Stanley, it's been operated by KU52RXF instead. This is fitted with a flipdot display.

Its not its printed out on paper or whatever it is.

Adrian is correct - KU52RXF does have a flipdot route number and destination display fitted. Although the photograph below doesn't depict the side display, it is indeed a route number and destination display.

Often when I see KU52RXF it is not displaying 'Flint Hill' like in Dan's photograph, it's display is usually shown like it is on W363ABD.

W363 ABD hasnt been on the 713 the last few times i have seen it.
Possibly the biggest offender when it comes to destination screens in the North East is Hodgsons Coaches, where of the four buses that are normally allocated to normal service work, three of them have no working destination equipment whatsoever whilst one MPD has a front LED screen but side number roller destination equipment.

Believe that the other MPD they have doesn't have working equipment either.
Another concern with them is a lacking of ticketing equipment, pretty sure only the Solo has a ticket machine and according to Alex Garwood on Flickr, it doesn't appear to work. Everytime I've been on one of their buses they appear to have been noting passengers of using their services by writing it down on paper.
Well Scarlet Band certainly haven't made YJ06YRE DDA compliant, number on wrong side on front screen, side roller equipment with n destination blind in.

Remember, the 'number on the right had side of the screen' is only a best if... thing - it does not make the vehicle non-DDA compliant. As for the others, you are quite right.
Weardale has Y6WMS on the 111/115 circuit today displaying 'Weardale' on the screen with pieces of paper in the window alerting passengers it's operating the 111.

No doubt we'll start to see the arguments from spotters about the PSVAR/DDA regulations.
In my opinion, these regulations are the way forward to making all buses accessible for pushchairs, wheelchairs and the elderly. If the entrance to the bus is too tight, it's a struggle to get on and there will be more reasons.
I'd hate to have seen what buses would be like without these regulations to be honest.
