It's not wrong in the sense though. 24:00 is a perfectly acceptable way of replacing 0:00

And as defined in ISO 8601.

Quite, not to go OT but television networks schedule to 26:00 hours.
Of course if GNE are to use 24:00 it should be used across the board, having seen the GNE Facebook wall you really don't want to confuse some of those idiots
Can any of the insiders confirm why the MetroLink branding (and numbering) is going?
Is it a political decision or a marketing one?

But are you in the 'would look sexy on one of those buses you see in a Spanish holiday resort' camp?

No, the Metrolink would even look terrible on one of Llorente Bus Scania's
It suited the Solars well...more than it suited the original MetroTaxis stock in the 80s/90s
How about the MetroLINK branding on a DAF?

Surprised you seen it through the obligatory cloud of black smoke.
I am quite intrigued as to why GNE have to decided to re-number the M1 to 4 as does seem to be a bit of an odd move regarding a rebrand, plus it would seem pointless re-numbering the M1 but not the M2/M3 as this would potentially confuse Passengers.
So would it not make more sense to also re-number the M2/M3 to 4A/4B, and have both under the "4 Connections" Brand alongside the M1 instead of a re-branded "Washington Street Shuttle" on the Versa's off the Saltwell Park.

Super new buses for a 10min frequency service through Fencehouses with wifi & next stop announcements - you must be cock-a-hoop !

If I lived in Fencehouses I would be over the moon with wifi. Hopefully it will have plugs too
The Fencehouses Popular Front will be over the moon. The powers that be at GNE towers just have to give them a service that runs beyond 9pm now!

If Fencehouses was that popular it would have a bus after 9pm, but if there's no demand for a commercial service, it could always go out to tender from the local authority, but they mustn't think it justifies the expenditure

There is the Nexus funded 79a (that covers the Tyne & Wear part of Fencehouses).
That came about when DCC stopped funding the 71 late on and GNE decided they couldn't justify running an hourly bus for a few extra hours a night...
In all seriousness though, how does an operator decide if there is or is not enough demand?
Take Boxing Day for example.
Fencehouses has never had a service for as long as I can remember - if at all.
Who has decided that there isn't demand on that specific day to run a commercial service - but enough demand during a normal day to run 13 buses an hour through the place?
Conversely, the likes of Eppleton, Newbottle and Herrington Burn have at least 2 different services between the two points (x1 and 35) on Boxing Day?
I agree with andreos1.
To be honest, if Shiney Row, Fence Houses and Houghton-le-Spring can justify a service every 10 minutes during the day to The Galleries, Concord and Heworth, as well as a service every 30 minutes on Sunday daytimes (on the M1), why can't an evening service beyond Fatfield be viable? Even if they decided to bother with an hourly service, it would be a start!

Don't forget the 20a, 35a or 71 mind
.
They are included in the 13 per hour - in either direction.
26 buses ph (pretty similar to Low Fell levels of service) and not enough demand for an evening or boxing day service apparently...
I haven't included the 921 or 922 that whizz through Fencehouses on the way to Npower (or the hourly TB21, or the one in each direction 968 workers service or the 452 and 453 scholars buses nor the 3 runs of the 79a between 9.30pm and 11.30pm).

Perhaps this was a hint at two arriving per day? I don't know...
Remember, they may not be able to be delivered on Saturdays or Sundays - it could just be Mon-Fri. Possible still, I guess.
