I dread to think what these 23/24 changes are going to be like...

Im sick of arriva mucking about with the services in Peterlee, l live in Peterlee and its always something different each year.

When Arriva closed down the depot at Peterlee i was hoping there took there bus services with them, but nope there just used the other 3 depots to run the bus services.

Alot of passengers in Peterlee (East Durham area) are getting a bad deal of bus services.

Im still waiting for Arriva to clear off and get GNE to run the services instead.
They have driver swaps at Sunderland and I've witnessed so many occasions where the driver hasn't turned up...
The driver of the 230 was once having a discussion with an Arriva driver and he said, "Well why don't you just radio in to control to see where the driver is?" - the driver responded, "The radio system doesn't work like that with us..."

Come on, how are the drivers meant to get in touch with control? Get out of their cab and use their mobile?!

EDIT: Actually, saying that... I've been on a Stagecoach in Sunderland bus in the past and that has happened. :L

Arriva's radio system is answered by Jesmond so not much use, best to ring on phone! Stagecoach's is done by own depot but doesn't work in all areas (eg Hartlepool on our 36)
Arriva have announced the first of it's green buses for the North East

10 new DD Volvo Hybrids will go on the 308

And Man Eco City CNG Gas powered single deckers will enter service on the 2,11 and 12 in Darlington

Link with the fetching livery
http://www.arrivabus.co.uk/greener-buses/

And timetable changes in Northumberland including the axing of the secured X65 which leaves Swarland, Shilbottle Grange and Newton-on-the-Moor without a bus service

http://www.arrivabus.co.uk/service-changes-feb-2013/

And on the subject of no buses

Arriva are withdrawing a hell of a lot services into Northumberland this evening due to adverse weather

Thanks for posting those service changes! I hadn't been aware any were due for this area; I must have missed the VOSA registrations for these Smile

It doesn't surprise me that Arriva are running some of their buses off early. Seemingly rather treacherous in places.

7512 on the X15 needed the assistance of the police this morning to get towed out of a slippery spot in Alnwick - a few photos about 2/3's of the way down the page - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-...losed.html

The hybrid livery looks very attractive on the MAN EcoCity's; not too sure about the livery for the double deckers that will be going on the 308, but I'm sure they will look brilliant in the flesh!
Any idea of a rough date for those MAN EcoCitys?

I believe it's March, that was a date mentioned when I first heard about it.

I've pulled an article that says March too, might be worth asking the Arriva North East facebook wall but they are a lil, pardon the pun, snowed under tonight

Many thanks - that's when I'll gladly go to Darlington to get some photos of Arriva buses!
...Not displaying any favoritism, of course.

X24 has been changed so it no longer clashes with the GNE X22 which is a good idea.

One other thing, does anyone know where the short working X2 that does Low Fell - Newcastle at 08:46 comes from? Its a School Day only service but it seems' a bit odd to stick the nicer equipment on there, on a school run

I'm probably wrong but the 878 scholars service from my school, Cardinal Hume, is operated by Arriva and arrives at about 8:35am. That gives the bus (a 61 reg Wright Pulsar 2) enough time to get to Low Fell to start its service to Newcastle.

That could be it. When I saw it before Christmas it was low-lander a few times but aside that it's always been a Pulsar or more rarely now, an Omnicty
