(10 Apr 2014, 5:10 pm)mb134 wrote [ -> ]Just wondering, what will replace the 8 Enviro's while getting refurbished for the X21/22?
Should be replaced by a batch of deckers freed up once the new stock starts to arrive I gather. Probably a mix of DAF DB250's from Durham and Ashington's own stock (once the X18's arrive).
Hopefully we'll find out further with what's going on refurbishment wise soon! All of the Omnicities are due to go for refurbishment too, probably be after the E400's are completed.

Any idea on what will happen to these after the Enviro's are refurbished, as Ashington will have less use for them? Additionally are 7514-21 the ones being refurbed?

7459-64 are due to be disposed of. I can only assume 7458 will follow suit (!)
I believe it is 7514-21 to be refurbished, but will try and get it confirmed.
I know that the X18 is getting a max upgrade but I honestly don't see why it's not getting a Sapphire upgrade. It would certainly be justified and viable. However, if the 6 Enviros have highbback seating, then that will suffice for the timebeing. I'd say that the next Sapphire upgrade will be the X10 / X11 in 2016 with regards to the Northumbria area.

I doubt a route going 'MAX' in 2014 will go 'Sapphire' in 2016.

Because one of the Sapphire features are that the service operates at least every 15 minutes.

In relation to this, since the B10BLE's will no longer be needed on the X22 will they be allocated to the 35/35A with the new Streetlite's or will they move to a different depot?

The B10BLEs are due to move south to replace DAF Prestiges. The 35 will become 4 double decks (7453-6?) and 2 Streetlites.

Will 7505-9 and 7511 be used on 20/X20 or? Since there will be no use for them on X15/18 X21/22 or 35/A
Yes, I get what you mean about every 15 minutes but due to the nature of the route, they could surely make an exception. It's popular enough to be getting new buses. and if ANE had a batch of 20 Sapphire E400's, then they could easily operate them on a rota basis so that they all get their fair share of hammering on the X18 and time to simmer slightly on the X21 and X22.
So it would be 4 units like this on the X18:
-Monday = 7528 to 7533
-Tuesday = 7523 to 7528
- Wednesday = 7518 to 7523
- Thursday = 7514 to 7518 and 7533
Then the rota would come around every 4 days like that.

Then it's pointless them being 'Sapphire'! If you want that to happen, you'd end up with them being 'MAX' rather than 'Sapphire'.

You've got nee chance. They struggle enough with allocating the Hybrids to the 308.

Wonder if this will be a Belmont run opposed to an Annfield Plain one as it is now.

I think that's the plan - Belmont takes over from Classic, although it remains to be seen whether that means one of Belmont's Solos receives Nexus livery.

What will the darts be allocated to then (the ones from Classic)
4504 involved in RTC on B1318 between Central Motorway and Blue House. Only seems minor.

Yeah, usually a Nimbus works it.

Should the Solos on the M2 on a night have the livery regardless?

Mini Dart 1711 seen in Cockerton Darlington coming from Faverdale with cleaner at the wheel at 15 10
7504 be going into sapphire most likely

Why would it go ''Sapphire'' this early, besides, it's for the X93.

No it isnt.
7504 is going back to Ashington and it is going Sapphire.
They need to start the refurbishments now, as they cant do them all at once can they?
Its unclear which E400 are for max refurbishment and sapphire refurbishment but it may well be 57 reg are for max and 09 are sapphire, just going have to wait and see soon as they come back from Thorntons

I doubt 7504 is going to go Sapphire. When the PVR of the X22 is 6 and Arriva are getting 6 brand new Sapphire Enviro 400's, and then the PVR of the X21 is 8 and Arriva have 8 09-reg Enviro 400's that could easily be refurbished (7514-7521), it hardly seems a coincidence. I think that the most likely reason for 7504 to be heading to Thorntons is just for some general maintence before heading to operate at Ashington as we all know the condition that the Enviro 400's have ended up in while at Redcar/Whitby so they probably could do with a bit of proffesional attention, hence also why I doubt they'll be going Sapphire. However an alternative (but also just as likely) theory as to why 7504 is heading to Thorntons is that it is going there to be refurbished to MAX specification for service X14.
