I would like to compliment Arriva for a well organised event to launch their MAX service in Morpeth on Friday. Despite the damp weather and the distraction of Black Friday the event was well attended with the square at the junction of Bridge Street and Newgate Street almost full.
From an enthusiast point of view there was only one bus (7532) at the event and it was open for viewing although getting photos from the near side was almost impossible due to the size of the crowd that was present. Entertainment was provided by Titan the Robot which was delivered with some humour to the delight of the two parties of school children that were at the event.
All of the Arriva people supporting the event were helpful, knowledgeable and approachable. Packs were handed out consisting of timetables, fare information, a fold together cardboard MAX bus model and a MAX branded key ring with flash light.
Overall a great event, well done to the team from Arriva!

Rode 1308 yesterday and it had one of Darlington depots best friends as once again they have used the sticky bits of the weekly tickets on the panel under the window inside the bus.
What would they do without it?

Better than drivers opting to leave it hanging!
Was on a Pulsar the other week (can't remember if it was one of Stockton's or Durham's) and an off-duty Arriva employee alerted the driver to a panel which was hanging by one corner. The driver said he didn't have time to sort it out, so hopefully it wouldn't fall off completely. The off-duty employee looked less than impressed.

Problem is knowing Darlington depot it will stay like this for ages, 1304 had a bit of this stuff on for a while and after a few months instead of being repaired they added more, it remained like this until it was transferred to Belmont depot who fixed it.
Also saw a pic on Fotopic years ago of a Prestige the panels above the windows and lights was being kept shut with tape and some over times they were just left to flap open.
